Objectives
THIS COURSE INTENDS TO EXAMINE THE PRINCIPAL THEORIES AND METHODOLOGIES FOR POLICY ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION, AS SHARED WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY OF POLICY ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION SCHOLARS AND PRACTITIONERS.

THE POLICYMAKING PROCESS ACCORDING TO EVOLUTIONARY APPROACH AND COMPLEXITY THEORY; POLICY DILEMMAS AND THE ETHICAL ROLE OF ANALYST AND EVALUATOR; METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO CAUSAL ANALYSIS IN POLICY EVALUATION (EXPERIMENTS, COUNTERFACTUAL ANALYSIS, REALISTIC AND THEORY BASED EVALUATIONS); RHETORICS AND ALTERNATIVE LOGICS OF PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS AND INDICATORS.

THE ORAL EXAM CONSISTS OF QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM, IN ORDER TO ASCERTAIN NOT ONLY THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT, BUT ALSO THE ABILITY TO PRESENT THE TOPICS WITH THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY.
