Objectives
THE COURSE PROPOSES GENERAL INTERPRETATIVE SCHEMES OF POWER RELATIONS AND CONFLICTS IN GLOBAL SOCIETY. IT DEVELOPS A COMPARISON ON THE HISTORICAL-POLITICAL HISTORIOGRAPHICAL NODES AND THE NARRATIVE IMAGINARIES THAT ACCOMPANIED THIS HISTORICAL PROCESS BETWEEN THE CONGRESS OF VIENNA AND THE PRESENT WORLD. THE MODULES ARE PLACED WITHIN A LONG-TERM PERSPECTIVE, TO ALLOW THE DEVELOPMENT OF IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, COMPETITION FOR GLOBAL POWER, DYNAMICS, AND NARRATIVES OF CONFLICTS.

THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO UNDERSTAND:
- THE LINES OF DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL SOCIETY FROM THE CONGRESS OF VIENNA TO THE PRESENT DAY
-THE PROFILE OF IDEOLOGICAL NARRATIVES AND POLITICAL PROJECTS.
-THE FORMATION CHARACTERISTICS OF A GLOBAL SOCIETY BASED ON COMPETITION BETWEEN DEVELOPMENT MODELS
- THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ECONOMIC CONTEXT AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS IN CONTEMPORARY GLOBAL SOCIETY.
- ADVANCED TECHNIQUES OF ANALYSIS AND DEEPENING OF THE FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS OF CONTEMPORARY GLOBAL SOCIETY.

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- SEARCH, PROCESS AND CRITICALLY INTERPRET HISTORICAL DATA, INCLUDING IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT
- ANALYZE HISTORICAL SITUATIONS TO LOCATE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC PHENOMENA
- ANALYZE WITH AWARENESS THE FUNCTIONAL EVENTS FOR USE IN THE SCIENTIFIC, EDUCATIONAL AND PUBLIC CONTEXT.

Teaching Methods
AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL HAVE ACQUIRED THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE POLITICAL-INSTITUTIONAL, SOCIOECONOMIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY, FROM 1815 TO OUR DAY. ALSO WILL BE ABLE TO ESTABLISH SPACE-TEMPORAL CORRELATIONS AND TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEX DYNAMICS OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD, USE LINGUISTIC TOOLS (LANGUAGE PROPERTIES, CORRECT LEXICON THAT SPECIFIC) SUITABLE TO EXPRESS CONCEPTS, IN THE FORM OF POLICY, , INSTITUTIONAL, ECONOMIC, CULTURAL; WILL KNOW HOW TO READ HISTORIOGRAPHIC WORKS CRITICALLY AND USE THE MAIN TOOLS, INCLUDING IT, FOR THE RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS OF SOURCES. THESE SKILLS WILL BE ACQUIRED THROUGH A DIRECT AND CONTINUOUS COMPARISON WITH THE TEACHER; THE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE PROPOSED SOURCES WILL ALSO CONSTITUTE A MOMENT OF CRITICAL REFLECTION AND METHODOLOGICAL LEARNING.
Verification of learning
THE TEST CONSISTS OF AN ORAL EXAMINATION TO VERIFY THE STUDENT'S PREPARATION AND SUITABILITY TO USE THE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT IN THE FIELD OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY. IN THE COURSE OF THE INTERVIEW THE ABILITY TO KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE THE CONTENT AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN A CLEAR AND UNIQUE WAY WILL BE ASSESSED.
