Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO TRANSMIT ANTHROPOLOGICAL-CULTURAL TOOLS AND METHODS NECESSARY TO IDENTIFY, KNOW, UNDERSTAND, INTERPRET, DESCRIBE, COMMUNICATE - INDEPENDENTLY - THE CULTURAL AND SOCIAL PHENOMENA OF A GIVEN CONTEXT.

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION
THE STUDENT WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW:
THE MODES OF ETHNOGRAPHIC METHOD;
THE PRINCIPLES OF ETHNOLOGY;
THE FOUNDATIONS OF CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY;
THE RELATIONSHIPS AMONG THE THREE LEVELS.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION
THE STUDY OF THE DISCIPLINE WILL ALLOW THE STUDENT TO:
SELECT WITH AWARENESS THE TERRITORIAL CONTEXTS OF INTEREST ON THE BASIS OF THE ANTHROPOLOGICAL METHOD THAT INTERPRETS CULTURAL FACTS AS A SYMBOLIC, RELATIONAL SYSTEM;
ACQUIRE ETHNOGRAPHIC DATA;
SYSTEMATIZE, PROCESS, AND REPRESENT DATA IN ETHNOLOGICAL MODELS;

IDENTIFY PRIORITIES AND PREVAILING THEMES WITHIN GENERAL SUBJECT AREAS;

Teaching Methods
LECTURES.
Verification of learning
FINAL TESTING WILL BE ORAL. THE EXAM WILL CHECK THE STUDENT'S PREPARATION AND ITS ABILITY TO USE THE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE DISCIPLINE.
DURING ORAL EXAMINATION WILL BE EVALUATED THE CAPACITY TO COMMUNICATE, CLEARLY AND UNIQUELY, THEORETICAL CONTENTS AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND CRITICALLY THE THEMES PROPOSED THROUGH THE TEXTS AND DEVELOPED IN THE LECTURES.
EACH STUDENT WILL BE ASKED TO PROPOSE AN ARTICULATE DISCUSSION ON A TOPIC WITH, IN ORDER TO HIGHLIGHT THE HOLISTIC NATURE CHARACTERIZING THE CULTURE OF ANY CONTEXT.
