I. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF: 1. THE MOST RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN LOGIC AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE; 2. THE MAIN TOOLS, PROVIDED BY PROPOSITIONAL AND PREDICATIVE LOGIC FOR THE FORMALIZATION OF PROPOSITIONS AND ARGUMENTS; 3 THE IMPLICATIONS OF ARGUMENTATION THEORY IN PUBLIC, PHILOSOPHICAL, AND SCIENTIFIC DEBATES; 4. THE EPISTEMIC AND METAPHYSICAL ASSUMPTIONS OF DIFFERENT SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINES.

II. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING TO: 1. THE MOST RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN LOGICAL AND SCIENTIFIC DEBATES; 2. THE FORMALIZATION OF NATURAL LANGUAGE IN PROPOSITIONAL AND PREDICATIVE LANGUAGES; 3. THE ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC, SCIENTIFIC, AND PHILOSOPHICAL DEBATES; 4. THE ANALYSIS OF LOGICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL TEXTS; 5. THE PRODUCTION OF ARGUMENTS WITH A GOOD LOGICAL AND EXPOSITIVE STRUCTURE, BOTH IN WRITTEN AND ORAL FORM.

THE FINAL EXAMINATION WILL BE AN ORAL INTERVIEW. IT WILL TEST THE UNDERSTANDING OF TOPICS, TOOLS AND BIBLIOGRAPHY DISCUSSED DURING THE COURSE AND THE ABILITY TO SUCCESSFULLY CARRY OUT THE EXERCISES.
