Objectives
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE FALL IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE DEGREE COURSE WHICH PROVIDES THE TRAINING OF A PROFESSIONAL EXPERT IN THE FIELD OF MONITORING, EVALUATION, MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL AND ANTHROPOGENIC RISKS AND TERRITORY MANAGEMENT.

WASTE MANAGEMENT MODULE (PROF VENDITTO):
THE REFERENCE PROFESSIONAL FIGURE OF THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS MODULE. HE IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATOR EXPERT IN THE VARIOUS ASPECTS OF WASTE MANAGEMENT FROM THE LEGAL TO THE TECHNICAL INSTALLATION.
DUBLIN 1 DESCRIPTOR (KNOWLEDGE / KNOWLEDGE)
THE TEACHING PROVIDES:
- THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORLD OF WASTE, BOTH AS REGARDS REGULATORY ASPECTS IN THE ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN CONTEXT, AND RELATIVE TO THE THEORETICAL ASSUMPTIONS AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF THE ACTIONS OF THE WASTE CYCLE.
- REGULATORY AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR SETTING UP A CORRECT WASTE MANAGEMENT CYCLE
- THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE MOST COMMON SYSTEMS IN THE FIELD OF WASTE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL
- THE BASIC PRINCIPLES FOR AN ANALYSIS, BASED ON THE "EVALUATION OF THE LIFE CYCLE", OF THE WASTE MANAGEMENT CYCLE
- KNOWLEDGE ABOUT POLLUTION DUE TO THE INPUT OF WASTE INTO THE ENVIRONMENT
IN ADDITION, THE STUDENT IS ALWAYS MADE AVAILABLE UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION ON THE SITUATION OF THE PRODUCTION AND FATE OF WASTE IN ITALY AND IN THE EUROPEAN CONTEXT.

THE TEACHING ENABLES THE STUDENT TO:
- ADDRESSING PROBLEMS RELATING TO WASTE MANAGEMENT BOTH FROM A REGULATORY POINT OF VIEW AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS
- CONTRIBUTE TO THE SETTING (OR EVALUATION) OF A WASTE MANAGEMENT CYCLE ADHERING TO THE REGULATION AND CURRENT PLANT AVAILABILITY
- COMPARE THE PLANT CHOICES OF A MANAGEMENT CYCLE USING AN APPROACH BASED ON THE "EVALUATION OF THE LIFE CYCLE"
- ADDRESSING THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH POLLUTION DUE TO THE ENTRY OF WASTE INTO THE ENVIRONMENT

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT MODULE (TEACHER TO BE ASSIGNED):
THE REFERENCE PROFESSIONAL FIGURE OF THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS MODULE. HE IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATOR EXPERIENCED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE POLLUTION OF WATER BODIES, THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE SOIL.

STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND TECHNICAL-ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT, STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND IMPACT ASSESSMENT.
DUBLIN 2 DESCRIPTOR (SKILLS / KNOW-HOW)
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE DECISIONS RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ISSUES AND TO USE SUPPORT SYSTEMS, TO IDENTIFY SOLUTIONS TO THESE ISSUES, BASED ON MULTICRITERIAL ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES.
Prerequisites
NO PARTICULARS, PREREQUISITES ARE REQUIRED, IF NOT BASIC PHYSICAL-MATHEMATICAL KNOWLEDGE AND NOTIONS IN THE CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL FIELD ALREADY ACQUIRED WITH THE ATTENDANCE OF A SECONDARY SCHOOL (UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL) BUT BETTER STILL WITH A THREE-YEAR DEGREE IN THE TECHNICAL FIELD. SCIENTIFIC.

- ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT AND STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (8 HOURS FRONTAL, 4 HOURS EXERCISES).

LECTURES ON THE THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE COURSE AND GUIDED TOURS TO WASTE MANAGEMENT PLANTS

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT MODULE:
THEORETICAL LESSONS, CLASSROOM EXERCISES AND TECHNICAL VISITS.
THE STUDENTS OF THE COURSE, DIVIDED BY WORKING GROUPS, ARE ASSIGNED A PROJECT THESIS CENTERED ON THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE.

THE ATTENDANCE OF THE LESSONS IN THE CLASSROOM IS NOT OBLIGATORY, THAT OF THE EXERCISES AND VISITS TO THE PLANTS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

MODULO VALUTAZIONE D'IMPATTO AMBIENTALE (PROF. FIORENTINO):
AS REGARDS THE "ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT" MODULE, THE COURSE INCLUDES THEORETICAL LESSONS, EXERCISES IN THE CLASSROOM AND TECHNICAL VISITS. TO THE STUDENTS OF THE COURSE, DIVIDED BY WORK GROUPS, A PROJECT PAPER FOCUSING ON THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE IS ASSIGNED.
Verification of learning
WASTE MANAGEMENT FORM
ORAL EXAM LASTING 45 MINUTES.
EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE TO ANSWER A SERIES OF QUESTIONS THAT COVER ALL THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE.
THE AIM OF THE TEST IS TO VERIFY THE STUDENT'S KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL ASSUMPTIONS UNDERLYING WASTE MANAGEMENT FROM BOTH A LEGAL (IN THE ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN CONTEXT) AND TECHNICAL PLANT POINTS OF VIEW. SIMILARLY, THE FINAL EXAM INTENDS TO VERIFY THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO SET UP (OR EVALUATE) A WASTE MANAGEMENT CYCLE THAT COMPLIES WITH THE LEGISLATION AND IS BASED ON THE MOST CURRENT SYSTEMS IN THE SECTOR.
THE MINIMUM MARK FOR PASSING THE EXAM IS 18/30, AND IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL ASSUMPTIONS THAT INSPIRE THE WASTE MANAGEMENT CYCLE FROM BOTH A LEGAL AND TECHNICAL PLANT POINT OF VIEW.
THE MAXIMUM VOTE (30/30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL ASSUMPTIONS THAT INSPIRE THE WASTE MANAGEMENT CYCLE FROM BOTH A LEGAL AND TECHNICAL PLANT POINT OF VIEW AND IS ABLE TO DESCRIBE A CYCLE IN DETAIL OF WASTE MANAGEMENT THAT COMPLIES WITH THE LEGISLATION AND BASED ON THE MOST CURRENT PLANT ENGINEERING IN THE SECTOR.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT FORM:
VERIFICATION OF LEARNING WILL CONSIST IN EXPOSURE AND DISCUSSION OF THE PROJECT THESINE AND IN THE SUBSEQUENT ORAL INTERVIEW AIMED AT VERIFYING THE LEARNING OF THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE COURSE
THE MINIMUM MARK FOR PASSING THE EXAM IS 18/30, AND IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE POLLUTION OF THE WATER BODIES, THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE SOIL.
THE MAXIMUM VOTE (30/30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND TECHNICAL-ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT AND STRATEGY ASSESSMENT.
