THE COURSE WILL INTRODUCE THE STUDENT TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE NEED AND THE AVAILABILITY OF INORGANIC ELEMENTS IN LIVING ORGANISMS. IT WILL EXAMINE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF COMPLEXES BETWEEN METALS AND BIOLOGICAL MOLECULES AND MECHANISMS OF ACTION OF BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES INVOLVING INORGANIC ELEMENTS. FINALLY, THE STUDENT WILL BE INTRODUCED TO MORE ADVANCED RESEARCH TOPICS IN THE FIELD OF BIOINORGANIC, EG THE USE OF METALLIC COMPLEXES COMPOUNDS CONJUGATED WITH POLYMERS USED IN DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPY. |
