Objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE COURSE INTENDS TO PROVIDE AN EXHAUSTING SURVEY OF MODERN ASTROPHYSICS AND COSMOLOGY BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMPLETE DICTIONARY FOR THE COMPREHENSION OF ALL PHENOMENA OBSERVED IN OUR UNIVERSE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS LEARN HOW TO APPLY INTERDISCIPLINARY PHYSICS KNOWLEDGE TO HIGHLY COMPLEX SITUATIONS, SUCH AS THOSE STUDIED IN ASTROPHYSICS AND COSMOLOGY.
Prerequisites
ATOMIC AND MOLECULAR SPECTROSCOPY. ZEEMAN EFFECT, MASER, BLACK BODY. CANONICAL AND GRANCANONICAL ENSEMBLE, FERMI-DIRAC AND BOZE-EINSTEIN DISTRIBUTIONS. RELATIVISTIC KINEMATICS; BASICS OF GENERAL RELATIVITY; CLASSIFICATION OF ELEMENTARY PARTICLES, BASICS OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS. SOMMERFELD MODEL OF SOLIDS. ELECTRODYNAMICS: RADIATION FROM A ROTATING DIPOLE, FARADAY ROTATION, SYNCHROTRON RADIATION, BREHMSSTRAHLUNG, INTERACTION OF RADIATION WITH MATTER.
