Objectives
LECTURES ARE INTENDED TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO FOUNDATIONS OF GENERAL RELATIVITY AND COSMOLOGY, EMPHASIZING GEOMETRICAL ASPECTS AND APPLICATIONS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
LECTURES AIM TO MAKE STUDENTS ADVISED OF THE CURRENT PROBLEMS IN GRAVITATIONAL PHYSICS, DESCRIBING SOLUTIONS OFFERED BY THE GENERAL RELATIVITY AND THE ONES OFFERED BY ALTERNATIVE THEORIES, EVEN IN ORDER TO DEVELOP THEIR CRITICAL SPIRIT.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
LECTURES INTEND TO MAKE STUDENTS ABLE TO SOLVE SIMPLE PROBLEMS OF GRAVITATIONAL PHYSICS, ALSO BY USING SYMBOLIC CALCULUS ON COMPUTER (ES. MAPLE) AND TO WRITE A SHORT THESIS (LESS THAN 10 PAGES) ON NEW TOPICS, CLOSE TO THOSE ALREADY STUDIED.
Prerequisites
CLASSICAL MECHANICS, ELECTRODYNAMICS, SPECIAL RELATIVITY, LAGRANGIAN AND HAMILTONIAN DYNAMICS, QUANTUM MECHANICS.
