THE COURSE PROVIDES TO THE STUDENTS BASIC KNOWLEDGE ON THE SEISMOLOGY TO UNDERSTAND THE PHYSICAL PROCESSES OF THE EARTHQUAKE GENERATION, MAKING THEM ABLE TO DEVELOP ORIGINAL IDEAS ON EARTHQUAKE GENERATION AND IMPACTS ON NATURAL AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT. THEORETICAL ASPECTS ARE COMPLETED BY PRACTICAL EXERCISES IN CLASSROOM. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE COURSE PROVIDES THE ACQUISITION OF APPROPRIATE SKILLS ABOUT THE ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF SEISMOLOGICAL MEASURES. THE STUDENTS WILL ENRICH THE KNOWLEDGE WITH CRITICAL SENSE AND RESPONSIBILITY, DEALING WITH DIFFERENT SOURCES. THEY WILL DEVELOP LEARNING SKILLS LIKELY TO BE ABLE TO DO, ON THEIR OWN, FOCUS ON SEISMIC RISK MITIGATION METHODOLOGIES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP CRITICAL ABILITY DEVELOPING APPROPRIETE SKILL ON OBSERVATIONAL SEISMOLOGY, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF SEISMOLOGICAL MEASURES TO ASSESS SEISMIC HAZARDS AND RISKS. |

THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED GETTING THROUGH AN ORAL EXAMINATION. THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS ALSO IN THE DISCUSSION OF A TECHNICAL REPORT ON THE FIELD EXPERIMENTS. THE ORAL TEST (ABOUT 40MIN) IS FINALIZED TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING REACHED BY THE STUDENT ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM AND THE VERIFICATION OF THE ACQUISITION OF APPROPRIATE SKILL AND CRITICAL SENSE ON THE ANALYSIS OF EARTHQUAKE PROCESSES. ORAL TEST WILL VERIFY THE COMMUNICATION CAPACITY WITH LANGUAGE PROPERTIES AND AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION OF EXPOSURE. |
