Teaching Methods
THE COURSE COVERS LECTURES (60 HOURS 6 CFU), CLASSROOM EXERCISE (30 HOURS 3 CFU) AND LABORATORY ACTIVITIES (30 HOURS 3 CFU). THERE IS A REQUIREMENT FOR A MINIMUM COMPULSORY COURSE ATTENDANCE OF 70% OF THE TOTAL COURSE TIME. THE TEACHER WILL DESCRIBE THE ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION MODE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS.
Verification of learning
THE STUDENT’S ASSESSMENT PERFORMANCE IS MADE THOUGH A WRITTEN AND AN ORAL EXAMINATION. TO REACH THE ORAL EXAM IT IS NECESSARY TO PASS THE WRITTEN TEST. IT WILL TYPICALLY BE OF THE DURATION OF TWO AND HALF HOURS. THE MINIMUM ASSESSMENT IS “PROVISIONAL ADMISSION”. THROUGH THE WRITTEN EXAM IT WILL BE EVALUATED STUDENT’S ABILITY TO ANALYSE AND TO DESIGN MULTISTAGE CIRCUITS TO MEET STATED OPERATING SPECIFICATIONS, AND TO DESCRIBE THE PHYSICAL BEHAVIOUR OF SOLID-STATE DEVICES
THE ORAL EXAM, OF AN AVERAGE DURATION OF 1 HOUR, HAS THE AIM TO ASCERTAIN THE KNOWLEDGE, THE ABILITY OF MAKING ANALYSIS AND JUDGMENTS, AS WELL AS COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF THE STUDENT.
DURING THE COURSE, THE STUDENT CAN TAKE THREE WRITTEN TEST ABOUT COURSE FUNDAMENTAL TOPICS (SEMICONDUCTOR PHYSICS, DIODES CIRCUITS, BIASING MULTISTAGE CIRCUITS). IF ALL THE TESTS ARE PASSED, THE STUDENT IS EXONERATE FROM WRITTEN EXAMINATION, PARTIALLY OR TOTALLY, ACCORDING RESULTS OF THE THREE TESTS.
THE ORAL EXAM WILL TAKE ACCOUNT OF INTRA COURSE TESTS, IN ANY CASE.
DURING THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION, IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO CONSULT TEXTS OR TOVUSE PERSONAL COMPUTER AND SMARTPHONE. THE STUDENT CAN USE CALCULATOR.
THE FINAL GRADE IS EXPRESSED IN THIRT
THE MINIMUM LEVEL OF EVALUATION (18/30) IS ATTRIBUTED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES UNCERTAINTIES IN THE APPLICATION OF THE SOLUTION METHODS OF THE PROPOSED CIRCUITS, HAS LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN PROPERTIES OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DEVICES AND LOW EXPOSITORY CAPACITY.
THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (30/30) IS ATTRIBUTED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROPOSED ELECTRONIC DEVICES ; HE IS ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROPOSED PROBLEMS BY IDENTIFYING THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS TO ANALYZE THE CIRCUITS AND SHOWS A REMARKABLE ABILITY TO CONNECT AND EXPOSE THE PROPERTIES OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DEVICES AND CIRCUITS.
THE LAUDE IS ATTRIBUTED WHEN THE CANDIDATE SHOWS A SIGNIFICANT MASTERY OF THE THEORETICAL AND OPERATIONAL CONTENTS AND SHOWS THE ABILITY TO PRESENT THE TOPICS WITH REMARKABLE PROPERTIES OF LANGUAGE AND AUTONOMOUS PROCESSING CAPACITY EVEN IN CONTEXTS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PROPOSED BY THE TEACHER.
