Objectives
THE COURSE AIM TO PROVIDE THE TOOLS FOR THE DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT OF THE SOLID WASTE INTEGRATED SYSTEM UNITS.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
COMPREHENSION OF CRITERIA AND METHODOLOGIES NECESSARY TO DESIGN AND OPERATE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS FOR SOLID WASTE COLLECTION, TREATMENT AND FINAL DISPOSAL.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ACQUIRE ADEQUATE SKILLS TO DESIGN TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL FACILITIES FOR SOLID WASTE ON DIFFERENT SCALES, IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE PROPER MANAGEMENT OF WASTE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COLLECTION SYSTEM IMPLEMENTED WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS
BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR SOLID WASTE CHARACTERIZATION AND THE MOST SUITABLE METHODOLOGIES TO DESIGN TREATMENT/DISPOSAL PLANTS. SIMILARLY, IN THE PLANT OPERATION, TO BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH THE UNIT OPERATION AND EQUIPMENT THROUGH THE SET OF PROCESS PARAMETERS, THUS PROVIDING THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE IMPLEMENTED PROCESS.

BE ABLE TO WORK IN GROUPS, ELABORATE AND DISCUSS PROPOSED TECHNICAL EXERCISE, IMPROVING THE TECHNICAL LANGUAGE.
