Objectives
THE COURSE PROVIDES THE METHODOLOGY AND TOOLS FOR A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF COMPUTER NETWORKS. SPECIAL ATTENTION IS PAID TO ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF NETWORKS AND THEIR BASIC SERVICES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN THE CONTEXT OF COMPUTER NETWORKS, OF THE MODELS USED FOR REPRESENTING NETWORK ARCHITECTURE AND OF NETWORKS DESIGN METHODOLOGY.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE THE ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN OF A LAN NETWORK AND ITS CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET, AND SERVICES THAT IT WILL PROVIDE BASIC.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR DESIGNING AND REALIZING A LOCAL AREA NETWORK AND CONNECTING IT TO THE INTERNET.

Verification of learning
THE FINAL EXAM WILL BE DONE THROUGH A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL INTERVIEW. TO PASS THE EXAM, THE STUDENT WILL DEVELOP AN ASSIGNED PROJECT TO DEMONSTRATE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE MAIN CONCEPTS PRESENTED IN THE COURSE AND BE ABLE TO APPLY THEM IN GUIDED CONTEXTS. THE VOTE IS EXPRESSED IN 30/30 AND DEPENDS ON THE MATURITY EXHIBITED IN PRESENTING THE PROJECT, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE QUALITY OF THE ORAL PRESENTATION.
