FIRSTLY, THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE THE ENGINEERING STUDENTS THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE KINEMATICS AND STATICS OF CONTINUOUS BODIES. THE CONSTITUTIVE BEHAVIOR OF THE MOST COMMON STRUCTURAL MATERIALS IS EXAMINED. IN PARTICULAR, THE CONSTITUTIVE BEHAVIOUR OF HOMOGENEOUS ISOTROPIC LINEAR ELASTIC MATERIALS IS ANALYZED IN DEEP. THE SKILLS THUS ACQUIRED ALLOW TO FACE, IN A SECOND PHASE OF THE COURSE, THE STUDY OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL PLANE STRUCTURES: STATICALLY DETERMINATE AND STATICALLY INDETERMINATE. THE ANALYSIS OF STATICALLY INDETERMINATE STRUCTURES IS DEVELOPED BY USING BOTH THE METHOD OF FORCES AND DISPLACEMENTS. IN THIS CONTEXT, THE STUDENT ACQUIRES THE SKILLS RELATED TO THE DETERMINATION OF CONSTRAIN REACTIONS, AS WELL AS TO THE EVALUATION OF THE STATE OF STRESS AND DEFORMATION IN LINERA ELASTIC STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS. FINALLY, THE COURSE PROVIDES THE ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE FOR THE VERIFICATION OF THE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS WITH RESPEC TO THE ULTIMATE LIMITE STATES. IN PARTICULAR, THE ELASTIC BUCKLING OF AXIALLY LOADED BEAMS IS INVESTIGATED. |
