Objectives
Acquire a B2 level of language proficiency in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in your field of specialisation. Be able to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes natural interaction with native speakers possible without effort for the interlocutor. Be able to produce clear and detailed text on a wide range of topics and explain a point of view on a topic by providing the pros and cons of the various options.
Prerequisites
The course’s target is students who have a good knowledge of English so that they may interact in a vast range of communication situations and understand easily topical issues. A B1 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is required.
Contents
Each student is required to reflect on complex structures of the language through the analysis of different kinds of texts, which will serve for the communication ability (written and oral comprehension), a competence on specific languages in everyday situations. Each teaching/learning activity tends not only to improve linguistic competence but also to acquire techniques on documents, redaction and review of texts.
Teaching Methods
Active lecture, interactive lessons in labs, collaborative and cooperative tasks with mother tongue CELs and self-learning.


Verification of learning
At the end of the course, students (both those who have attended and not attended the course) shall pass an exam testing the level of knowledge of the language acquired during the course: B2 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
