EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES AND SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED: LEARN THE BASIC TERMINOLOGY AND BASIC ELEMENTS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING. LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL REPRESENTATION THROUGH THE USE OF COMPUTER TOOLS AND DEDICATED 3D AND BIM-BASED MODELING SOFTWARE; LEARN THE POTENTIAL OF THE BIM METHODOLOGY WITH RESPECT TO NON-INTEROPERABLE DRAWING AND DOCUMENT PROCESSING PROCEDURES. ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO READ, INTERPRET AND TRANSLATE INTO INFOGRAPHIC MODELS THE MAIN CURVES, SOLIDS AND COMPLEX GEOMETRIC SURFACES THAT CHARACTERIZE THE ARCHITECTURAL SPACE; ACQUIRE THE BASIC PRINCIPLES FOR THE TREATMENT OF DIGITAL IMAGES; ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF DIGITAL GRAPHIC TECHNIQUES FOR THE REALIZATION, VISUALIZATION, PRESENTATION, COMMUNICATION OF A GRAPHIC PROJECT. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: UNDERSTANDING IN THE PROCESSING OF THE MAIN COMPUTER DATA. UNDERSTANDING OF THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN THE MODELS DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED WITH 3D AND BIM-ORIENTED DIGITAL REPRESENTATION SYSTEMS, THE METHODOLOGIES USED AND THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS OF ARCHITECTURAL INFOGRAPHIC LANGUAGE. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: KNOW HOW TO ELABORATE, ACCORDING TO CONVENTIONAL CODED STANDARDS, IMAGES AND DIGITAL MODELS OF THE ARCHITECTURAL SPACE. TO INTEGRATE TWO-DIMENSIONAL DATA WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL AND ALPHANUMERIC DATA. KNOW HOW TO USE AND CONFIGURE SOFTWARE SYSTEMS TO CARRY OUT YOUR BUSINESS. AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE SOFTWARE AND DIGITAL REPRESENTATION METHODS FOR THE FIGURATION OF COMPLEX ARCHITECTURAL SPACES, OPTIMIZING THE REPRESENTATION PROCESS ACCORDING TO THE CONTEXT UNDER EXAMINATION. ICAR17: IMAGE REPRESENTATION: RASTER IMAGES, IMAGE RESOLUTION, COLOR DEPTH, IMAGE COMPRESSION, COMPRESSION FORMATS (2 HOURS LESSON); USE OF SOFTWARE FOR PROCESSING AND MANAGEMENT OF DIGITAL IMAGES (2 HOURS LESSON; 2 HOURS TUTORIAL). FUNDAMENTALS OF DIGITAL MODELING (2 HOURS LESSON; 3 HOURS WORKSHOP). MODELLING TECHNIQUES AND OPERATING PROCEDURES (2 HOURS LECTURE; 3 HOURS LABORATORY). THE STATE OF THE ART OF BIM AND THE INTEROPERABILITY BETWEEN SOFTWARE IN AN INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT AND IDENTIFICATION OF CASE STUDIES (4 HOURS OF LESSON). INTRODUCTION TO PARAMETRIC MODELING IN THE ARCHITECTURAL FIELD (GRAPHIC INTERFACE, TEMPLATE, CORRELATION BETWEEN GRAPHICAL, NUMERICAL AND TABULAR INFORMATION, CUSTOMIZATION OF EXISTING LIBRARIES AND CREATION OF NEW LIBRARIES, ETC.) AND APPLICATION TO THE ASSIGNED CASE STUDY (2 HOURS LESSON; 6 HOURS EXERCISE). COMMUNICATION OF PROJECT DATA: GRAPHIC TABLES AND USE OF TEMPLATES (2 HOURS WORKSHOP) |

TEACHING, IN RELATION TO ICAR17 CONTENT, INCLUDES THEORETICAL LESSONS (1.5 CFU), CLASSROOM EXERCISES (1 CFU) AND LABORATORY ACTIVITIES (0.5 CFU). DURING THE CLASSROOM EXERCISES STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO DEVELOP GRAPHS RELATED TO THE TOPICS ILLUSTRATED DURING THE THEORETICAL LESSONS. IN THE LABORATORIES THEY HAVE TO GAIN EXPERIENCE IN DIGITAL MODELING. COURSE ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY: THE MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF ATTENDANCE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE EXAM IS 70% (AS PER CDS TEACHING REGULATIONS). THE TEACHER WILL VERIFY THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE REQUIRED PERCENTAGE OF PRESENCES THROUGH THE ELECTRONIC SURVEY. |

THE LEARNING VERIFICATION OF THE RESULTS ACHIEVED IS CARRIED OUT BY MEANS OF A FINAL TEST, WHICH INCLUDES A COMPUTER SCIENCE TEST AND A DRAWING TEST. THE DRAWING TEST CONSISTS OF A GRAPHIC PART CENTRED ON MODELLING AND AN ORAL INTERVIEW, SCHEDULED STARTING FROM THE END OF THE DIDACTIC ACTIVITIES: THIS INVOLVES THE DISCUSSION OF THE GRAPHIC WORKS AND THE PRESENTATION OF THE TOPICS OF THE THEORETICAL LESSONS. DURING THE INTERVIEW THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE THAT HE OR SHE UNDERSTANDS THE FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS OF THE LANGUAGE AT THE BASIS OF INFOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION AND THAT HE OR SHE KNOWS HOW TO ELABORATE, ACCORDING TO CONVENTIONAL CODED STANDARDS, DIGITAL MODELS OF COMPLEX FORMS THROUGH DEDICATED SOFTWARE. THE STUDENT MUST ALSO DEMONSTRATE MASTERY OF THE METHODS AND PROCEDURES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFOGRAPHIC MODELS OR THOSE SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO THE DISCIPLINE OF BIM, INTEGRATING TWO-DIMENSIONAL, THREE-DIMENSIONAL AND ALPHANUMERIC DATA AND ARRIVING AT ILLUSTRATIVE REPRESENTATIONS OF ARCHITECTURAL SPACE. FINALLY, IT MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT IT HAS ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE OF DIGITAL GRAPHIC TECHNIQUES FOR THE CREATION, VISUALIZATION, PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION OF A GRAPHIC PROJECT. THE LEVEL OF EVALUATION OF THE TESTS TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE RELEVANCE OF THE METHODS USED, THE COMPLETENESS AND ACCURACY OF THE ANSWERS, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO PRESENT ORALLY AND GRAPHICALLY EXAMPLES RELATED TO THE TOPICS COVERED. THE MINIMUM LEVEL OF ASSESSMENT (18) IS GIVEN WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES UNCERTAINTIES IN THE APPLICATION OF THE PROPOSED GRAPHIC METHODS AND PROCEDURES, AND HAS A KNOWLEDGE LIMITED TO THE BASICS OF THE VARIOUS TOPICS DEALT WITH. THE MAXIMUM LEVEL OF ASSESSMENT (30) IS GIVEN WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROPOSED GRAPHIC METHODS AND PROCEDURES, AND IS ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS FACED, ARRIVING IN AN EFFICIENT AND GRAPHICALLY ACCURATE WAY AT THE SOLUTION, SHOWING A FULL ABILITY TO APPLY IN PRACTICE THE THEORETICAL ASSUMPTIONS DEALT WITH DURING THE COURSE.
