LEARNING OUTCOMES AND SKILLS TO ACQUIRE THE COURSE AIMS TO PROMOTE THE LEARNING OF THE HISTORY OF RESTORATION AND OF THE THEORETICAL, SCIENTIFIC, METHODOLOGICAL AND OPERATIONAL ASPECTS FOR THE PROJECT RESTORATION. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS RECOGNITION OF THE THEORETICAL AND CULTURAL PRESUPPOSITIONS OF RESTORATION, OF THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS ABOUT PROTECTION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE; UNDERSTANDING HISTORICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES OF BUILDINGS AND KNOWLEDGE OF METHODS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE STATE OF CONSERVATION AND DESIGNING OF CONSOLIDATION AND RESTORATION INTERVENTION KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS APPLIED KNOWING HOW TO APPLY A CORRECT METHODOLOGY FOR THE ARCHITECTURAL, ARCHAEOLOGICAL, URBAN AND LANDSCAPE RESTORATION PROJECT IN ITS STAGES OF KNOWLEDGE, DIAGNOSIS, DESIGN HYPOTHESIS AND VERIFICATION. MAKING JUDGMENTS: FINDING OUT THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR ANALYZING THE EXISTING AND FOR THE PROJECT OF RESTORATION BY ADOPTING THE MOST APPROPRIATE CRITICAL CHOICES ABOUT MISSING GAPS AND REMOVING ADDITIONS. MAKING JUDGMENTS STUDENTS MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE REACHED A DEGREE OF MATURITY OF THE THEORETICAL ARGUMENTS, OF THE INTERRELATION BETWEEN CONCEPTUAL AND DESIGN ASPECTS AND TO POSSESS AN ABILITY TO EXHIBIT AND SYNTHESIZE IN PRESENTING THE EXERCISE CARRIED OUT IN GROUPS. LEARNING SKILLS: ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN DIFFERENT CONTEXTS FROM THOSE PRESENTED DURING THE COURSE AND TO DEEPEN THE TOPICS THROUGH THE STUDY, IN COMPLETE AUTONOMY, OF MATERIALS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED. |

THE COURSE PRESUPPOSES THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEMES OF THE HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE AND GENERAL THEMES OF ITALIAN HISTORY AND CULTURE, THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPLES AND VOCABULARY THAT REGULATE THE SPATIAL, FORMAL AND STRUCTURAL COMPOSITION OF ARCHITECTURE, THE KNOWLEDGE OF METHODS OF REPRESENTATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE. |

THE COURSE DEALS WITH THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: -HISTORY AND THEORY OF RESTORATION: HISTORICAL EVOLUTION AND THEORETICAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO RESTORATION IN THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES, QUESTIONS OF METHOD AND OPERATION IN THE CURRENT FIELD OF RESTORATION; LEGISLATION ON CULTURAL HERITAGE WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE CODE OF CULTURAL HERITAGE AND LANDSCAPE (40 HOURS OF LESSONS; -METHODOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES OF RESTORATION OF ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE: MATERIAL AND STRATIGRAPHIC READING OF HISTORIC BUILDINGS, CONSTRUCTION FEATURES OF HISTORICAL BUILDINGS, ANALYSIS OF ALTERATION AND DEGRADATION PROCESSES WITH REFERENCE TO THE UNI 11182 ABOUT THE DEGRADATION PATTERNS OF NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL STONES; DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES, READING OF INSTABILITY AND DESCRIPTION OF CONSERVATION AND CONSOLIDATION INTERVENTIONS. CONSERVATION AND ACCESSIBILITY: THE ARCHITECTURAL BARRIERS IN BUILDINGS AND HISTORICAL SITES. ELABORATION OF A RESTORATION PROJECT OF A BUILDING OF HISTORICAL INTEREST (30 HOURS OF LESSONS, 40 HOURS OF CLASSROOM EXCERCISES, 10 HOURS OF LABORATORY ACTIVITIES). |

THE COURSE INCLUDES THEORETICAL LESSONS (7 CFU) CLASSROOM EXCERCISES (4 CFU) AND LABORATORY ACTIVITIES (1 CFU). THEORETICAL LESSONS FOCUS ON HISTORICAL EVOLUTION AND THEORETICAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO RESTORATION IN THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES. DURING CLASSROOM EXCERCISES, STUDENTS WILL CARRY OUT A PROJECT ON AN EXISTING HISTORIC BUILDING THAT NEEDS RESTORATION. DURING THE LABORATORY ACTIVITIES AND , STUDENTS WILL BE GUIDED BY TEACHERS TO ANALYZE THE BUILDING AND THE CONSERVATION, STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL ISSUES TO BE CONSIDERED IN THE PROJECT. GROUPS OF STUDENTS (CONSISTING OF A MINIMUM OF 3 AND MAXIMUM 6 PEOPLE) WILL BE ASKED TO PRODUCE GRAPHIC ANALYSIS AND PROJECT TABLES. MULTIPLE EXERCISES ARE PROVIDED DURING THE COURSE TO BE ABLE TO ASSESS THE LEARNING SKILLS AND THE IMPACT OF THE PROPOSED TOPICS. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. TO THE FINAL EXAM THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ATTENDED AT LEAST 70% OF THE TEACHING HOURS (IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ACADEMIC REGULATIONS FOR THE COURSE OF STUDY). THE MODE OF VERIFICATION OF PRESENCE IS MADE KNOWN BY THE TEACHER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |

THE FINAL EXAMINATION IS CARRIED OUT THROUGH AN ORAL EXAMINATION ON THE TOPICS PRESENTED DURING THE COURSE. THE EXAM IS AIMED AT ASSESSING THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO HAVE LEARNED THE BASIC CONTENTS OF THE COURSE. THE VOTE, EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS WITH POSSIBLE PRAISE, WILL DEPEND ON THE MATURITY ACQUIRED IN THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPOSURE. IT WILL BE ASSESSED THROUGH AN ORAL INTERVIEW AIMED AT ASCERTAINING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT ON THE TEACHING CONTENT, AS WELL AS VERIFYING THE ABILITY TO EXHIBIT, USING THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY AND THE ABILITY TO AUTONOMOUSLY ORGANIZE THE EXHIBITION. THE INTERVIEW CONSISTS OF TWO PARTS: A) AND B) PART A) PROPOSES THEORETICAL QUESTIONS ON ALL THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE AND ON THE RECOMMENDED BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES, AS WELL AS ON VISITS, INSPECTIONS AND ANY SEMINARS CARRIED OUT. PART B) PROPOSES THE DISCUSSION OF THE DRAWINGS OF THE EXERCISE OF THE YEAR, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN CHOICES. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE PRAISE WE WILL TAKE INTO ACCOUNT: - THE QUALITY OF THE EXHIBITION, IN TERMS OF USING APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE - THE QUALITY OF THE DRAWINGS OF THE DESIGN EXERCISES - THE ABILITY OF CROSS-CORRELATION BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT TOPICS OF THE COURSE - OF THE AUTONOMY OF PROVEN JUDGMENT. |
