Obiettivi
This core course introduces the fundamental mechanisms of pharmaceutical technology and factors underlying controlled drug delivery. Learning outcome: Student is able to explain the key points of controlled drug delivery and the factors affecting the rate of drug delivery. Student can classify different drug delivery systems and explain the theories behind them, compare different applications of each delivery system. Student is able to describe the drug release characterization methods and explain different manufacturing methods. Student can design an improvement for existing drug delivery device and justify its improvements as well as analyze its future views in the field of drug delivery devices.

Metodi Didattici
FRONTAL LESSONS, INTERACTIVE LEARNING AND LAB EXPERIENCE.
FRONTAL LESSONS ARE CONDUCTED BY MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATIONS.
THE OPTIONAL LAB EXPERINCES ARE CONDUCTED INTO A LABORATORY DEDICATED TO THE PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY, ALLOW TO APPLY THE LEARNED THEORETICAL NOTIONS TO THE PREPARATION OF CONTROLLED DRUG RELEASE FORMULATIONS
Verifica dell'apprendimento
ORAL EXAMINATION
ORAL EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF A DISCUSSION OF APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES, TO VERIFY THE COMPREHENSION OF THE ARGUMENTS SUBJECT TO THE COURSE AND THE ABILITY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE FORMULATION OF INNOVATIVE PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORMS
