Objectives | |

THE COURSE OF NOTIONS OF PHYSICS, BIOCHEMISTRY AND APPLIED BIOLOGY TAKES PLACE IN THE FIRST SEMESTER. IT IS DIVIDED INTO 3 DIDACTIC MODULES: APPLIED BIOLOGY, GENERAL BIOCHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS. AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO KNOW THE STRUCTURE OF THE MAIN MOLECULES OF BIOCHEMICAL INTEREST AND UNDERSTAND THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF BIOENERGETICS FOR THE STUDY OF CELLULAR METABOLISM. FURTHERMORE, STUDENT WILL HAVE TO KNOW THE PHYSICAL PASSIVE FUNCTIONING MECHANISMS OF BIOLOGICAL MEMBRANES. AT THE END OF THE COURSE AND FOR PASSING THE EXAM, THE STUDENT MUST DEMONSTRATE: 1. HAVING REACHED A KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE MAIN BIOLOGICAL MOLECULES THAT ALLOW HIM TO SET UP THE ANALYSIS OF THE CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE STRUCTURE OF THE BIOMOLECULES AND THEIR FUNCTION IN PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PATHOLOGICAL CONDITIONS 2. ABILITY TO ANALYZE, DISCUSS AND PERFORM CORRELATIONS ON SIMPLE DATA OR HYPOTHESES 3. TO KNOW HOW TO EXPOSE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN THE CORRECT ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND WITH LANGUAGE PROPERTIES 4. TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR PEERS IN A CRITICAL MANNER OF THE THEMES STUDIED AND TO SUPPORT INTERDISCIPLINARY ARGUMENTS 5. KNOW HOW TO CONNECT THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE. |

THE COURSE INCLUDES LECTURES FOR A TOTAL OF 48 HOURS. CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. IN ORDER TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM, THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ATTENDED AT LEAST 75% OF THE TEACHING HOURS. THE MODE OF VERIFICATION OF PRESENCE IS MADE KNOWN BY THE TEACHER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |

THE TEST, AS A WHOLE, MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO ASCERTAIN BOTH THE CAPACITY FOR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING, AND THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE SKILLS ACQUIRED, BOTH THE ABILITY TO EXHIBIT, AND THE ABILITY TO LEARN AND DEVELOP SOLUTIONS INDEPENDENTLY.
