GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES: THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORY OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. THE STUDENTS WILL ORIENT CRITICALLY IN THE ITALIAN POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL EVENTS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE STUDENT: - WILL KNOW THE HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF THE POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL EVENTS OF ITALY IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT - WILL UNDERSTAND THE HISTORICAL-SOCIAL CORRELATIONS OF ITALIAN POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL PHENOMENA - WILL UNDERSTAND THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF BEHAVIORS, CULTURAL MODELS AND MENTALITY THANKS TO THE ANALYSIS OF THE MASS MEDIA. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THROUGH THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - CRITICALLY ANALYZE THE MAIN HISTORICAL SOCIAL DYNAMICS OF THE ITALIAN EVENTS IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY - EVALUATE THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN SOCIETY AND THE PHENOMENA RESULTING FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MASS COMMUNICATION MEDIA - ELABORATE THE HISTORICAL SOCIAL CORRELATIONS OF BEHAVIORS, CULTURAL MODELS AND MENTALITY. MAKING JUDGMENTS: THE STUDENT WILL DEVELOP CONCEPTUAL TOOLS AND CRITICAL SKILLS USEFUL FOR AUTONOMOUSLY EVALUATING METHODOLOGICAL-HISTORICAL ISSUES, SOURCES AND MATERIALS OF HISTORY. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE HIS KNOWLEDGE AT DIFFERENT LEVELS (BOTH TO AN AUDIENCE OF EXPERTS AND TO ONE OF NON-SPECIALISTS), EXPRESSING THEM WITH SPECIFIC LANGUAGE PROPERTIES AND LEXICAL SKILLS, AND USING THE MOST APPROPRIATE REGISTER FOR EACH CIRCUMSTANCE. LEARNING SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS AND USE BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS, TRADITIONAL AND DIGITAL SOURCES, TO IDENTIFY AND SELECT THE SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE USEFUL FOR INCREASING THEIR KNOWLEDGE. |
