THE COURSE "SPECIAL DIDACTICS AND PEDAGOGY" AIMS TO PROMOTE REFLECTION ON THE THEORIES AND TEACHING PRACTICES AIMED AT PROMOTING EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTIONS AS A RESPONSE TO SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS IN SCHOOLS. BY THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS ARE REQUESTED TO DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE DISCIPLINE, WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON COGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. THE PRINCIPAL ABILITIES ACQUIRED ARE: -THE ABILITY TO APPLY AND INTERPRET THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO ENSURE A PROFESSIONAL APPROACH IN TEACHING, TO SOLVE THE COMPLEX PROBLEMS EMERGING FROM THE INCLUSIVE PROCESS OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. -INTEGRATE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO MANAGE THE COMPLEX INCLUSIVE DYNAMICS, SHOWING AUTONOMY IN JUDGEMENT, ETHICAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THEIR EVALUATION -COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENTS MUST DEMONSTRATE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS USING THE SPECIFIC LEXIS AND PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE ARGUMENTS TO THEIR CONCLUSIONS. |

FOR THE MODULE "SPECIAL PEDAGOGY" (PROF. PAOLA AIELLO)- IT IS ASSUMED THAT THE STUDENT ALREADY POSSESSES KNOWELDGE ON THE MAIN RESEARCH APPROACHES TO EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROCESSES OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. |

MAURIZIO SIBILIO) WILL FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING AREAS: - THE INTEGRATIONIST APPROACH IN SPECIAL DIDACTICS - INTRODUCTORY REFLECTIONS FOR INCLUSIVE ACTION IN SCHOOLS - SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (ORIGINS, EPISTEMOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL ASPECTS) - THE ISSUE OF SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS ON AN INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL LEVEL - THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL TO PROMOTE AN INCLUSIVE APPROACH - TECHNOLOGY AND INCLUSION STARTING FROM A DEFINITION OF THE AREAS OF STUDY OF THE DISCIPLINE, THE MODULE "SPECIAL PEDAGOGY" (PROF. PAOLA AIELLO), DEALS WITH THE THEMES OF INTEGRATION AND INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. THE MODULE CONCENTRATES ON THE THEORY THAT UNDERPINS THE PARADIGM OF INCLUSION. |

THE 60-HOUR COURSE (10ECTS) WILL INCLUDE LECTURES USING POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS AND GROUPWORK. ATTENDANCE TO THE COURSE IS NOT COMPULSORY BUT RECOMMENDED. |
Verification of learning | |

ASSESSMENT INCLUDES AN ORAL EXAM WHICH CONSISTS OF QUESTIONS AND A DISCUSSION ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE COURSE PROGRAMME. THE AIM OF THE ASSESSMENT IS TO CONFIRM THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE STUDENT AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO PRESENT THEIR ARGUMENTS COHERENTLY AND USING THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY. A FINAL MARK OUT OF THIRTY IS AWARDED. |
