Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE A THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASURES THAT CAN BE USED IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FIELD.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: TO KNOW THE MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES AND THEIR USE IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CONTEXTS.

INCLUDING:
•KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES IN THE SPORT FIELD.
•KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN THEORIES UNDERLYING MEASURING INSTRUMENTS IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
•TO UNDERSTAND HOW PERCEPTIONS, ATTITUDES, MOTIVATION AND BEHAVIORS IN SPORT PSYCHOLOGY ARE EVALUATED.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BE ABLE TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE LEARNED, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE USE OF SPECIFIC PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES IN SPORTS AND EXERCISE.

INCLUDING:
•THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO ANALYZE AND EVALUATE EXISTING TOOLS IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
•THE ABILITY TO ASSESS THE PSYCHOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A MEASURE SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CONTEXTS.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CRITICALLY EVALUATE PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FIELD.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CLEARLY EXPLAIN THEORIES, METHODS AND PROCESSES CONCERNING PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASUREMENT IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CONTEXTS USING THE SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE OF THE SECTOR.

LEARNING SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY DEEPEN THE MAIN SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL ISSUES REGARDING THE MEASUREMENT OF PERCEPTIONS, ATTITUDES, MOTIVATION AND BEHAVIORS IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
Prerequisites
KNOWLEDGE OF GENERAL ELEMENTS OF SPORT PSYCHOLOGY.
KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH (READING AND COMPREHENSION).
Contents
THE COURSE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT IN SPORTS AND EXERCISE WILL DEEPEN THE FOLLOWING CONTENTS:
•THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASURE IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY (2 HOURS LESSON).
•RESEARCH APPROACHES IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FIELD (4 HOURS LESSON + 2 HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).
•PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. DIMENSIONALITY, VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASURE (4 HOURS LESSON + 2 HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).
•THE ASSESSMENT OF MOTIVATION IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY (6 HOURS LESSON + 4 HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICAL ACTIVITY).
•THE ASSESSMENT OF SELF-EFFICACY AND COLLECTIVE EFFICACY (4 HOURS LESSON).
•THE ASSESSMENT OF POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE AFFECT, EMOTIONS AND PASSION IN SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY (2 HOURS LESSON).
•THE ASSESSMENT OF ATTITUDES TOWARDS DOPING (2 HOURS LESSON).
•ACTIVE AGING AND SPORTS, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY (1 HOUR LESSON + 3 HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).

THE TEACHER MIGHT MODIFY THE ARTICULATION OF THE COURSE TO RESPOND TO STUDENTS’ LEARNING NEEDS.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE INCLUDES LECTURES AND INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP ACTIVITIES.

THE LECTURES WILL ALTERNATE EXPLANATIONS OF THE TEACHER AND TIME FOR DISCUSSION IN THE CLASSROOM. LESSONS CAN BE SUPPORTED BY SLIDES (E.G. POWERPOINT).

INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP ACTIVITIES WILL ALLOW STUDENTS TO REFLECT, WORK AND DISCUSS CONCEPTS, THEORIES AND TOOLS PRESENTED DURING THE LECTURES. INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP ACTIVITIES WILL ALLOW STUDENTS TO USE PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FIELD AND TO APPLY THEM TO REAL CONTEXTS AND SITUATIONS.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM IS AIMED AT ASSESSING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES IN THE SPORT, EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CONTEXT AND THE ABILITY TO EVALUATE THESE TOOLS.
THE ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY MEANS OF AN ORAL INTERVIEW. THE ORAL INTERVIEW IS AIMED TO EVALUATE THE ACQUISITION OF THE MAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE COURSE, TO VERIFY THE MASTERY OF THE CONTENTS, THE ABILITY TO REASON ON THE BASIS OF THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED, THE MASTERY OF THE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE OF THE DOMAIN OF REFERENCE.
