THE COURSE, DIVIDED INTO TWO MODULES, AIMS TO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH THE DISCIPLINARY SKILLS AND TEACHING TOOLS NECESSARY TO DESIGN AND MANAGE A SIGNIFICANT MATHEMATICAL TEACHING, BOTH IN KINDERGARTEN AND PRIMARY SCHOOL. IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL GUIDELINES, THE COURSE AIMS TO DEVELOP - BY EXAMPLE - A VISION OF MATHEMATICS AND ITS TEACHING CHARACTERIZED BY THE COGNITIVE PROCESSES OF PROBLEM SOLVING, COMMUNICATION AND ARGUMENTATION, GENERALIZATION, VISUALIZATION AND CLASSIFICATION. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: IN LINE WITH THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE, BOTH MODULES AIM TO: - DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN THE DIFFERENT AREAS OF BASIC MATHEMATICS (NUMBERS, SPACE AND FIGURES, RELATIONSHIPS AND FUNCTIONS, DATA AND FORECASTS), BY ASSUMING AN HIGHER POINT OF VIEW; - DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION SKILLS IN THE MAIN RESEARCH AREAS OF MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (DIFFICULTIES IN MATHEMATICS TEACHING-LEARNING, USE OF ARTIFACTS IN LABORATORY ACTIVITIES, INVOLVEMENT OF THE BODY, SEMIOTIC REPRESENTATIONS, ETC.). APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: IN LINE WITH THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE, BOTH MODULES AIM TO PROVIDE DISCIPLINARY RESOURCES AND TEACHING TOOLS USEFUL FOR PLANNING AND MANAGING EFFECTIVE AND MEANINGFUL MATHEMATICAL ACTIVITIES, AND FOR UNDERSTANDING AND FACING THE MAIN PROBLEMS OF MATHEMATICS TEACHING AND LEARNING. |

THE ASSESSMENT WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY MEANS OF WRITTEN AND ORAL EXAMINATIONS. THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION IS PRELIMINARY TO THE ORAL INTERVIEW. IT IS POSSIBLE ACCEPT THE VOTE OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION, WITHOUT HOLDING THE ORAL INTERVIEW. THROUGH BOTH THE EXAMINATIONS, IT WILL BE EVALUATED: KNOWLEDGE OF CONTENTS AND DEVELOPMENT OF ABILITIES IN THE MATHEMATICAL FIELD; KNOWLEDGE OF THE EDUCATIONAL THEORIES FACED DURING THE COURSE, CAPABILITY TO CLAERALY AND CRITICALLY EXPOSE THEM AND TO CONTEXTUALISE THEM IN THE FIELD OF MATHEMATICS TEACHING PRACTISE. |
