Objectives
ACQUISITION OF BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF AGRICULTURAL AND AGRO-SOCIAL ENTERPRISES. IN PARTICULAR TECHNIQUES OF ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROL WILL BE PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED.
IN ADDITION, THE COURSE ANALYSES THE BASIC OPERATIONS OF THE FIRMS AND OF THE PROTECTED AREAS MANAGEMENT UNITS.
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF TEACHING IS TO ANALYSE MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES OF FIRMS AND NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.
STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO THE ABILITY TO APPLY BASIC MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS FOR SETTING AND RESOLVING BASIC MANAGEMENT ISSUES WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO MAINTAINING ECONOMIC AND FINALCIAL BALANCE.
IN PARTICULAR THE MAIN KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITES WILL BE:

- MARKET MODELS
- FINALITY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

- ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL BALANCES ANALYSIS
- MARKETING MANAGEMENT(INTRODUCTION TO)
THE MAIN ABILITIES ACQUIRED WILL BE:
- IMPLEMENT A SWOT ANALYSIS
- EVALUATE ECONOMIC-FINANCIAL BALANCE
- DEFINE A STRATEGY
- DEFINE A BUDGET
Prerequisites
THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ACQUIRED BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF MATHEMATICS PROVIDED BY NORMAL STUDY PROGRAMS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.

THE COURSE WILL ANALYZE:
- THE VIABLE AND SUSTAINABLE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE (2 HOURS)
- CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF THE FARMS AND THE SYSTEM OF PROTECTED AREAS (2 HOURS)
- BUSINESS, ENVIRONMENT AND MARKET RELATIONS (2 HOURS)
- THE HIERARCHY OF STRATEGIES: CORPORATE, COMPETITIVE AND FUNCTIONAL (3 HOURS)
- THE DIRECTION-PROGRAMMING AND CONTROL CYCLE (2 HOURS)
- OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND THE INPUT-TRANSFORMATION-OUTPUT CYCLE (1 HOUR)
- THE BUSINESS FUNCTIONS: PURCHASING AND LOGISTICS; PRODUCTION, ORGANIZATION, SALES AND MARKETING, HUMAN RESOURCES, FINANCE (12 HOURS)
- SUSTAINABILITY IN THE AGRO-FOOD CHAIN (2 HOURS).
- EU FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR AGRI-FOOD CHAINS (2 HOURS)
- TOOLS TO SUPPORT THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE AGRO-FOOD CHAIN (2 HOURS)
- THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PROJECT WORK (12 HOURS)
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE WILL BE ORGANIZED IN LECTURES, DISCUSSIONS OF CURRENT ARTICLES, COMPANY TESTIMONIALS AND GROUP WORK. AFTER A FIRST PHASE IN WHICH THE TEACHER WILL TRANSFER THE PREPARATORY CONTENTS TO THE STUDY OF THE COMPANY, AS WELL AS THE MOST USED BUSINESS MODELS IN THE HERBAL SECTOR, THE STUDENTS WILL WORK ON THE ANALYSIS OF EMPIRICAL CASES WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON SUPPLY CHAIN RELATIONSHIPS IN ORDER TO ENHANCE THE AGRICULTURAL PHASE IN A PERSPECTIVE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN ORAL EXAM WITH AN ASSESSMENT OUT OF THIRTY.
FOR THE STUDENTS, A FIRST MOMENT OF VERIFICATION IS REPRESENTED BY THE PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT WORK. EACH GROUP HAS 20 MINUTES FOR THE POWER POINT PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT. A FURTHER 10 MINUTES ARE DEVOTED TO QUESTIONS.
DURING THE COURSE 2 TESTS WILL BE CARRIED OUT BASED ON MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS AND AIMED AT VERIFYING THE PROGRESSIVE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE. THE FIRST TEST WILL BE HELD AT THE END OF THE 1ST BLOCK (24 HOURS) OF LESSONS WHILE THE SECOND TEST WILL BE HELD AT THE END OF THE COURSE. THE POSITIVE OUTCOME OF THE INDIVIDUAL TESTS WILL FORM A BASIS FOR THE FINAL ASSESSMENT WHICH WILL BE DETERMINED AFTER PASSING AN ORAL INTERVIEW ON THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE.
THE ORAL EXAM CONSISTS OF A SUMMARY INTERVIEW THAT TRACES THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS PROVIDED IN THE TEACHING PROGRAM AND IS AIMED AT ASCERTAINING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING CAPACITY ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT, AS WELL AS VERIFYING THE EXPOSURE CAPACITY OF A APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND THE AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION OF THE EXHIBITION.
