Objectives
THE COURSE AIM IS AN ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND OF THE SOUTHERN ECONOMY IN THE CONTEMPORARY AGE. ALONGSIDE THIS GENERAL SCENARIO, IT IS AIMED TO ANALYZE THE PROFILE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMPORTANT INSTITUTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONTEXT OF THE CAMPANIA REGION AND SOUTHERN TERRITORY.

THE MAIN KNOWLEDGE WILL BE:
- RELATING TO THE MAIN PHENOMENA THAT HAVE DETERMINED, IN THE LONG HISTORICAL PERIOD, THE CURRENT CONFORMATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND OF THE SOUTHERN ECONOMY
- INHERENT TO THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF THE TERRITORY AND THE ENVIRONMENT IN ITALY AS A RESULT OF THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL CHANGES
- RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF THE MEZZOGIORNO.

THE MAIN SKILLS WILL BE:
- TO ANALYZE CONNECTIONS, UNIFORMITY, DIFFERENCES, WITH A PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC HISTORY.
- TO IDENTIFY AND ANALYZE CHANGES IN THE TERRITORY ADMINISTRATION, DEMOGRAPHY AND ITS RELATIONS WITH THE ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCIES, THE PROBLEMS OF ORGANIZATION OF THE TERRITORY, THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE INSTITUTIONS, WITH EMPHASIS ON THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION SYSTEM
- ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND CHANGES WITHIN THE COMPLEX NATIONAL AND GLOBAL SCENARIO.

AFTER AN INTRODUCTION ON THE MEZZOGIORNO HISTORY (1,4CFU) - IN ITS ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ASPECTS - THE COURSE WILL FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
- THE COUNTRYSIDE IN THE MEZZOGIORNO HISTORY (1,8CFU)
A. LANDSCAPES AND AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS (0,8CFU)
B. MEN AND INSTITUTIONS (0,8CFU)
- ANALYSIS OF THE ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL CONTEXT OF THE CONTEMPORARY MEZZOGIORNO (1,2CFU)
Teaching Methods
TEACHING IS BASED ON 6 CFU (42 HOURS) OF LESSONS.

Verification of learning
THE LEARNING TEST WILL BE A FINAL ORAL EXAM, AN OPTIONAL INTERMEDIATE TEST IS PROVIDED - SCHEDULED IN THE SIXTH WEEK OF THE COURSE - ON A PROGRAM TEXT: WITH A POSITIVE RESULT, THE TEXT IS REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAM FOR THE FINAL EXAM, IN CASE OF A NEGATIVE RESULTS THE EXAMINATION WILL BE CARRIED OUT ON THE WHOLE PROGRAM
THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY VOTING IN THIRTIES (MIN. VOTE 18/30).
THE EXAM GOAL IS TO VERIFY THAT THE STUDENTS HAVE DEVELOPED CRITICAL ATTITUDES AND AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT, AS WELL AS AN ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORY OF THE SOUTHERN ECONOMY AND THE MAIN INTERPRETATIVE MODELS PROPOSED BY THE TEACHING
