Objectives
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- IDENTIFY THE ROLE OF FAMILY BUSINESS WORLDWIDE;
- RECOGNIZE CHALLENGE WITHIN THE FAMILY BUSINESS AND IDENTIFY STAGES OF GROWTH WITHIN THE FAMILY AND THE BUSINESS ALSO THROUGH MAIN THEORIES AND MODELS;
- ANALYZE THE COMPLEX INTERACTION WITHIN THE FAMILY BUSINESS, BY DEMONSTRATING HOW THE BUSINESS TRANSFER CAN PROMOTE A REVITALIZED BUSINESS VISION AND STRATEGY.

THEY WILL HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF FAMILY BUSINESSES, BASED ON THE CRITICAL ISSUES OF GOVERNANCE ARISING FROM THE RELATIONSHIP FAMILY, BUSINESS AND PROPERTY.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

THE COURSE AIMS TO ACQUIRE READING AND INTERPRETATION SKILLS OF THE CHARACTERS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP FAMILY AND, IN PARTICULAR, IT FOCUSES ON THE BUSINESS TRANSFER AS MAIN PROBLEM OF FAMILY BUSINESSES.
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO EMPLOY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO UNDERSTAND AND SOLVE, USING THE NEGOTIATED SOLUTIONS, THE PROBLEMS OF SUCCESSION.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS

STUDENTS WILL HAVE CRITICAL SKILLS AND THEY WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE APPROPRIATE JUDGMENTS ABOUT THE MAIN CAUSES OF DISCONTINUITY OF THE FAMILY FIRM.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP LISTENING, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION SKILLS OF FAMILY FIRMS’ PROBLEMS AND THEY WILL BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY ARGUE AND COMMUNICATE WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS. AT THE SAME TIME THEY WILL DEVELOP INTERPERSONAL SKILLS FOR GROUP DECISIONS.

Teaching Methods
THIS COURSE INTENDS TO BE INTERACTIVE AND PRACTICAL. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SHARE IDEAS, RESOURCES AND EXPERIENCES. TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES WE WILL USE A WELL BALANCED SET OF RESOURCES INCLUDING LECTURES, CASE ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION, EXPERENTIAL EXCERCISES, SEMINARS AND PROJECT WORK.
