Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE A CRITICALLY ASSESSED KNOWLEDGE OF RECENT MODELS, TRENDS AND METHODOLOGIES OF RECEPTION OF LATIN LITETARY

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT:
- WILL KNOW THE DISCIPLINARY FOUNDATIONS OF TRADITION AND RECEPTION OF LATIN LITETARY TEXTS;
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE MAIN AND MOST UP-TO-DATE METHODOLOGIES FOR UNDERSTANDING TRADITION AND RECEPTION OF LATIN LITERARY TEXTS.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- MASTER THE SPECIALIZED RESEARCH TOOLS (PAPER AND DIGITAL) ABOUT THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE;
- USE THE AFOREMENTIONED TOOLS IN THE STUDY AND TEACHING OF THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE;
- SET UP EDUCATIONAL PATHS RELATING TO THE TRADITION AND RECEPTION OF LATIN LITERARY TEXTS

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- EVALUATE A SCIENTIFIC METHOD;
- DISCERN THE CONSTITUTIVE ELEMENTS OF A SCIENTIFIC PATH;
- SELECT THE MAIN SUBJECTS AND ASPECTS OF AN SCIENTIFIC PATH.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- ADEQUATELY ILLUSTRATE AN SCIRNTIFIC PATH;
- REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE, THROUGH TEXTS OR VIRTUAL TOOLS, THE RESULTS OF HIS RESEARCH;
- TALK ABOUT TOPICS RELATED TO THE TRADITION AND RECEPTION OF LATIN LITERARY TEXTS, MAKING USE OF ADEQUATE CRITICAL TERMINOLOGY.

LEARNING SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND IT RESOURCES;
- CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX LITERARY TEXTS.
- PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF HIS KNOWLEDGE, USING THE TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.

KNOWLEDGE OF THE INSTITUTIONS OF LATIN LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE, AND OF MODERN EUROPEAN LITERATURES, WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO MODERN ANC CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN LITERATURE

THE COURSE TAKES PLACE IN THE FIRST ACADEMIC SEMESTER OF THE FIRST YEAR AND HAS A TOTAL DURATION OF 30 HOURS

MATERIALS AND METHODOLOGIES ADOPTED TO IMPROVE THE LEARNING OF LATIN LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE AND THEIR RECEPTION

THE COURSE WILL BE STRUCTURED IN THREE MODULES:
1) TRADITION AND RECEPTION OF ELEGY: THE MAXIMIAN CASE
2) LEOPARDI AND THE ANCIENT, BETWEEN INTERTEXTUALITY AND TRANSLATION

THERE WILL ALSO BE SEMINAR SESSIONS, WITH THE PRODUCTION OF SMALL EXHIBITION PERFORMANCES BY STUDENTS, FOCUSING ON THE THEME "DYNAMICS OF THE RE-APPROPRIATION OF TEXTS IN LATIN LITERATURE: THEORY AND PRACTICE OF INTERTEXTUALITY
Teaching Methods
FRONTAL LESSONS WITH ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF THE STUDENTS, WHO WILL HAVE, WITH RECOVERIES ON THE EVALUATION, TO DEEPEN IN GROUP OR INDIVIDUALLY PART OF THE THEMES PROPOSED DURING THE COURSE.

Verification of learning
THE EXAM PREVENTS THE EVALUATION OF AN ORAL FINAL EVIDENCE, EVENTUALLY INCLUDING THE PRESENTATION OF A PROJECT WORK OPPORTUNATELY DEVELOPED WITHIN THE COURSE, DURING WHICH THE STUDENTS SHOULD DEMONSTRATE THE CRITICALLY ACQUIRED MAIN DISCIPLINARY CONTENTS AND HOW TO APPLY THEM IN RELATION TO TRADITION AND RECEPTION OF LATIN TEXTS.
MORE PRECISELY, THEY SHOULD PROVE:
- TO HAVE MASTERY OF THE DISCIPLINARY CONTENT, AT THE DIFFERENT SCALES;
- TO KNOW HOW TO ADEQUATELY USE THE OWN INSTRUMENTS OF THE DISCIPLINE
