THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE, TOOLS, AND METHODOLOGIES FOR THE STUDY AND TEACHING OF HISTORY, WITH REGARD TO THE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY AGES IN GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: - ANALYSE THE MOST RECENT RESULTS OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL HISTORIOGRAPHY CONCERNING THE MAIN PHENOMENA OF MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY HISTORY; - DEVELOP TOOLS AND METHODS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF INNOVATIVE RESULTS OF HISTORIOGRAPHY CONCERNING THE MAIN THEMES OF GLOBAL HISTORY AND POLITICAL PHENOMENA OF THE CONTEMPORARY AGE; - IDENTIFY DIDACTIC METHODOLOGIES FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF COMPLEX HISTORIOGRAPHICAL KNOWLEDGE TO HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS; - FACILITATE THE USE OF DIDACTIC MATERIAL, MANUALS AND TEXTS FUNCTIONAL TO AN ADEQUATE HISTORIOGRAPHIC UPDATING. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: DURING THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY METHODS AND FORMS OF KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED BY THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: - SIMULATE AND EXPERIMENT THE DESIGN OF TEACHING MODULES WITH REFERENCE TO TIME, CONTENTS, OBJECTIVES AND TOOLS, ADAPTING THEM TO POTENTIAL RECIPIENTS, MINISTERIAL PROGRAMS AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS; - USE OF DISCIPLINARY CONTENTS FOR PREPARING TESTS AND EXERCISES; - DESIGN METHODOLOGIES FOR STRUCTURING EX ANTE, IN ITINERE AND EX POST EXAMS. |

THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO THREE MODULES: 1) "THE HISTORIAN AND THE SOURCES": APPROACHES, METHODOLOGIES, AND TOOLS. THE MODULE IS AIMED AT REASONING ABOUT THE CONCEPTUAL AND INTERPRETIVE ASSUMPTIONS OF THE HISTORICAL DISCIPLINE; 2) THE TEACHING OF HISTORY. THE MODULE WILL ADDRESS THE GENERAL ISSUES AND PROBLEMS RELATED TO TEACHING HISTORY IN THE GLOBAL WORLD; 3) TEACHING HISTORY. THE MODULE WILL FOCUS, INCLUDING THROUGH PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES, ON MODELS AND PROPOSALS FOR TEACHING HISTORY IN THE CONTEMPORARY AGE |

THE COURSE INCLUDES FRONTAL LECTURES DIVIDED INTO MODULES, CARRIED OUT ALSO THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF AUDIO-VIDEO AND DIGITAL MATERIALS AND/OR SUPPLEMENTED WITH INDIVIDUAL/GROUP REPORTS AND LABORATORY ACTIVITIES. DISCUSSION IN THE CLASSROOM AND WITH COLLEAGUES AIMS TO REINFORCE THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE, AS WELL AS TO DEVELOP LEARNING PATHS IN HISTORIOGRAPHY AND THE TEACHING OF HISTORY |
