Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO TRANSFER TO STUDENTS THE MAIN ELEMENTS RELATED TO THE DESIGN OF LIBRARIES AND DIGITAL ARCHIVES AIMING AT THE RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT OF THE RESOURCES IN THE PLATFORMS ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGICAL MONITORING. AMONG THE CASES EXAMINED: OPAC AND METAOPAC, DATABASES AND DIGITIZATION, DIGITAL DISPLAY CASES RELATED TO HISTORICAL COLLECTIONS AND VALUABLE DOCUMENTARY SOURCES, SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH PRODUCTION (DIGITAL PHILOLOGY), SOURCES FOR EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES (READING OF DOCUMENTS AND THEIR HISTORICAL LOCATION), ARCHIVING FOR PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND PROTOCOLS FOR COMPANIES, PROJECTS WITH EUROPEAN FUNDS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
-BASIC ELEMENTS OF THE MANUSCRIPT DESCRIPTION; ELEMENTS OF BIBLIOLOGY, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO DIGITAL RESOURCES: INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF ANCIENT MATERIALS AND NOTES TO MODERN PROTOCOLS.
-OPAC AND METAOPAC: SEARCH, USE, UPLOAD AND DOWNLOAD RESOURCES IN/FROM THE WEB. USE OF SOURCES FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND TEACHING. INTERNET CULTURALE, EUROPEANA.
-DIGITIZATION: TYPES, FORMATS, MEANS. NATIVE DIGITAL ASSETS; TRANSITION FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL. THE DISPLAY CASES OF THE GREAT ITALIAN AND FOREIGN LIBRARIES.
-FIRST APPROACH TO XML AND XML-TEI METADATA, FUNCTIONAL TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF DIGITAL PLATFORMS: INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS.
-LINKED OPEN DATA FOR ARCHIVES AND LIBRARIES.
-CALLS FOR TENDERS AND INTERCEPTION OF SPECIFIC FUNDS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CULTURAL PROJECTS.
-HISTORICAL, BUSINESS, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND DIGITAL CURATION ARCHIVES
-TEACHING RELATED TO THE RECOVERY OF DOCUMENTARY SOURCES

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDNET WILL BE ABLE TO:
-CATALOG MANUSCRIPT MATERIAL FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE BETRAYED CONTENT BUT ALSO OF THE CONTAINER: LIGATURE, WRITING SUPPORT, MATERIALS, DECORATIONS ETC.
-EXAMINE DOCUMENTARY SOURCES: STARTING FROM THE READING/RECOVERY OF AN ANALOG OR ONLINE ANCIENT DOCUMENT, TO CREATE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES RELATED TO HISTORY, LITERATURE AND RELATED SUBJECTS.
-DEVELOP BASIC PROJECTS RELATED TO DIGITIZATION ACTIVITIES OF MATERIALS RELATED TO ARCHIVES AND LIBRARIES OF VARIOUS SHAPES AND TYPES.
-ELABORATE INDEXING ACTIVITIES STARTING FROM THE PHILOLOGICAL-LITERARY STUDY OF THE PIECE/PIECES WITH PARTICULAR REGARD TO THE TEI AND XML LANGUAGES.
-EXAMINE AND DRAW UP CALLS, COMPETITIONS AND COMPETITIONS IN THE FIELD OF CULTURAL HERITAG

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:

-CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS: SOURCES IN THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE, CRITICAL EDITIONS, FINDERS AND ANALOG AND DIGITAL DICTIONARIES;
-CONTINUOUSLY UPDATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE ACCORDING TO THE METHOD OF CONTINUING TRAINING, USING THE REFERENCE TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE;
-COMPETENTLY CARRY OUT ACTIVITIES OF READING, TRANSCRIBING AND REMANDING DOCUMENTARY SOURCES BY PLACING THEM IN TIME AND SPACE.

VERY IMPORTANT THE KNOWLEDGE OF PHILOLOGIES: ROMANCE AND ITALIAN, NOTIONS OF LINGUISTICS, ENGLISH, COMPUTER SCIENCE.

- CATALOGING ANCIENT MATERIAL (XVI-XIX CENTURY) FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE BETRAYED CONTENT BUT ALSO OF THE CONTAINER: BINDING, WRITING SUPPORT, MATERIALS, DECORATIONS ETC.
- EXAMINE THE DOCUMENTARY SOURCES: STARTING FROM THE READING / RETRIEVAL OF AN ANCIENT ANALOGICAL OR ONLINE DOCUMENT, TO CREATE DIDACTIC ACTIVITIES RELATED TO HISTORY, LITERATURE AND RELATED SUBJECTS.
- DEVELOP BASIC PROJECTS RELATED TO DIGITIZATION ACTIVITIES OF MATERIALS RELATING TO ARCHIVES AND LIBRARIES OF VARIOUS SHAPES AND TYPES FOLLOWING NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RULES.
- DEVELOP INDEXING ACTIVITIES STARTING FROM THE PHILOLOGICAL-LITERARY STUDY OF THE PIECE / PIECES WITH PARTICULAR REGARD TO TEI AND XML LANGUAGES.
- EXAMINE AND ELABORATE CALLS, TENDERS AND COMPETITIONS IN THE CULTURAL HERITAGE SECTOR.
