Objectives
THROUGH THE HISTORICAL AND CRITICAL SURVEY OF PARTICULARLY SIGNIFICANT EVENTS IN THE HISTORY OF ART IN ITALY, IT AIMS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE AND METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR THE STUDY OF PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES AND ARCHITECTURE, DRAWINGS, ETCHINGS AND OTHER ARTEFACTS WHICH WERE PRODUCED IN MODERN AGE IN ITALY AND IN EUROPE. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE A MORE ACCURATE HISTORICAL RECONSTRUCTION AND IN-DEPTH CRITICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORKS, STYLISTIC ANALYSIS WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY ICONOGRAPHIC INVESTIGATION AND THE ANALYSIS OF DOCUMENTS AND OTHER WRITTEN SOURCES.
Prerequisites
GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF WRITTEN AND ORAL ITALIAN LANGUAGE; BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF EUROPEAN HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY.
