Objectives
GOALS
THE STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES AND INDUSTRIAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION OF GOODS AND SERVICES. THERE WILL BE IN-DEPTH ASPECTS OF:

-STRUCTURES AND MANAGEMENT OF PRODUCTION SYSTEMS;
-ICT TECHNOLOGIES FOR AUTOMATION AND CONTROL OF PRODUCTION PROCESSES.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING WILL FIRST DEVELOP THROUGH THE MODELING OF MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES AND THE WORKFLOWS THAT TAKE PLACE IN IT.
THEN YOU WILL ACQUIRE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF WEB APPLICATIONS FOR THE INDUSTRY.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
AT THE END OF THE TEACHING, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO USE AN ENGINEERING APPROACH TO THE ANALYSIS, DESIGN, REALIZATION, TESTING AND MAINTENANCE OF SOFTWARE SYSTEMS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF A MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.

COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS:
ABILITY TO SHARE WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PROJECT TEAM MODELS AND SOFTWARE DOCUMENTS PRODUCED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF A PROJECT AND TO UNDERSTAND THE DOCUMENTATION PRODUCED BY OTHERS.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT:
THE STUDENTS ARE GUIDED TO LEARN IN A CRITICAL AND RESPONSIBLE WAY EVERYTHING THAT IS EXPLAINED TO THEM IN THE CLASSROOM AND TO ENRICH THEIR CAPACITY OF JUDGEMENT THROUGH THE STUDY OF THE DIDACTIC MATERIAL INDICATED BY THE TEACHER. THE AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT IS ALSO REALIZED THROUGH THE TEAMWORK AND THE COMPARISON WITH THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PROJECT TEAM.

ABILITY TO LEARN:
AT THE END OF EACH TRAINING CYCLE OF 2/3 WEEKS, THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO
-DESCRIBE THE TOPICS LEARNED IN WRITTEN AND/OR ORAL FORM;
- APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED TO THE PROJECT THAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO YOU.
Prerequisites
THE STUDENTS HAVE TO KNOW CONCEPTS CONCERNING FUNDAMENTAL ALGORITHMS AND DATA STRUCTURES TOGETHER WITH THE BASIC NOTIONS OF DATABASE SYSTEMS. IN PARTICULAR, IS REQUIRED THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RELATIONAL MODEL AND THE MAIN STRUCTURES OF THE LANGUAGE SQL. EVEN IF NOT STRICTLY NECESSARY, IT IS HELPING SOME SKILL IN THE LANGUAGE PHP.

DEFINITION OF MANUFACTURE, MANUAL WORK AND AUTOMATED WORK. MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS, CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION AND DISCRETE PRODUCTION, CLASSIFICATION OF MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES. LAYOUT OF PLANTS AND TYPES OF PRODUCTION PROCESS.

2. METRICS FOR THE EVALUATION OF MANUFACTURING PERFORMANCE AND MANUFACTURING COSTS. (HOURS LEZ. 4, ORE ESERC. 2)

3. PLANNING OF MANUFACTURING PROCESS, PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS. (HOURS LEZ. 12, ESERC. 4)

-MATERIAL REQUIREMENT PLANNING (MRP),-CAPACITY PLANNING,-SHOP FLOOR CONTROL AND MES,-MANUFACTURING RESOURCE PLANNING (MRP II),-CAD/CAM/CIM,
-ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP).

4. INDUSTRIAL INTERNET (HOURS LEZ. 4)
DEFINITION OF INDUSTRY 4.0, A FRAMEWORK FOR INDUSTRY 4.0: DIGITIZING PRODUCT AND SERVICE OFFERING, DIGITIZING AND INTEGRATING HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL VALUE CHAINS, INNOVATIVE DIGITAL BUSINESS MODELS.

5. DEVELOPMENT OF WEB APPLICATIONS FOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (HOURS LEZ. 6, LAB. 6)
A FRAMEWORK FOR DEVELOPING WEB APPLICATIONS IN PHP. MVC ARCHITECTURE, HIERARCHICAL ORGANIZATION OF SOFTWARE, REUSE OF SOFTWARE COMPONENTS. APPLICATIONS TO THE PLANNING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS OF THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.
Teaching Methods
A PROJECT WILL BE ASSIGNED TO EACH GROUP OF STUDENTS. IT WILL BE REQUIRED TO DEVELOP A SOFTWARE APPLICATION THAT WILL IMPLEMENT A SELECTED ASPECT OF AN ENTERPRISE PROCESS. LABORATORY SESSION WILL BE ORGANIZED TO TRANSFER THEORETICAL SUBJECTS TO PRACTICAL CONTEXT.

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE TO THE FINAL ASSESSMENT AND TO GAIN THE CREDITS
CORRESPONDING TO THE COURSE, THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ATTENDED AT LEAST 70%
OF THE HOURS OF ASSISTED TEACHING ACTIVITIES.
Verification of learning
LEARNING ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES WILL START AFTER THE FIRST MONTH OF THE COURSE AND WILL CONTINUE WITH SIGNIFICANT PROJECT MILESTONES. THE LEARNING CHECKS WILL CONSIST OF:
1. INTERMEDIATE TEST: MULTIPLE CHOICE OR OPEN QUESTIONS ON THEORETICAL CONTENTS (10 POINTS);
2. FINAL TEST:
A) PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT (10 POINTS);
B) ORAL QUESTIONS ON THE THEORETICAL CONTENTS OF THE COURSE (10 POINTS).
