FIRST MODULE - PROF. ZANICHELLI TO HAVE A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEDIEVAL ART AND FULL AWARENESS OF THE PROBLEMS OF PERIODIZATION AND OF THE MOST IMPORTANT HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ISSUES. TO PROVIDE SOME PRACTICE IN THE EXERCISE OF READING AND PHILOLOGICAL RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HISTORICAL AND ARTISTIC ARTIFACTS. SECOND MODULE - PROF. DELL'ACQUA TO GAIN A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE DEVELOPMENTS OF MEDIEVAL ART; AN AWARENESS OF THE QUESTION OF THE PERIODIZATION AND OF THE MAJOR HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ISSUES; TO INTERPRET AND CONTEXTUALIZE ARTIFACTS BY APPLYING A PHILOLOGICAL METHOD. |

FIRST MODULE - PROF. ZANICHELLI THE COURSE AIMS TO OUTLINE THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE HISTORY OF MEDIEVAL ART, FROM EARLY CHRISTIAN PERIOD TO INTERNATIONAL GOTHIC, AND ADDRESS SOME GENERAL ISSUES ABOUT METHOD AND PERIODIZATION. SOME OF THE MOST REPRESENTATIVE WORKS OF DIFFERENT PERIODS AND DIFFERENT CULTURES WILL BE ANALYZED IN ORDER TO INTEGRATE THE KNOWLEDGE ALREADY ACQUIRED BY STUDENTS IN HIGH SCHOOLS. SECOND MODULE - PROF DELL'ACQUA THE SECOND MODULE OF THE COURSE WILL DEAL WITH: SOUTHERN ITALY IN THE NORMAN-SWABIAN AGE; GOTHIC ART IN EUROPE AND IN ITALY; THE MAIN ART-HISTORICAL QUESTIONS OF THE ITALIAN DUECENTO AND TRECENTO, WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON MONUMENTS OF CENTRAL ITALY. |

THE EXAM CONSISTS OF AN ORAL INTERVIEW THAT AIMS AT TESTING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS DISCUSSED DURING THE COURSE AND THE EXPRESSIVE ABILITIES OF THE STUDENT. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE STUDENT’S ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE REFERENCE MATERIAL PROVIDED DURING THE COURSE. THE FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECTS COVERED, THE SECURITY IN REWORKING THE TOPICS, THE RANGE OF THE ANALYSIS AND SYNTHESIS CAPABILITIES OF THE CONTENTS WILL BE ASSESSED WITH A MARK OF EXCELLENCE. THE MNEMONIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE DISCIPLINE, LIMITED CAPACITY FOR ANALYSIS AND SYNTHESIS, AND MODEST EXPRESSIVE SKILLS WILL LEAD TO DISCRETE VALUATIONS. KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES OF ANALYSIS AND SYNTHESIS MINIMAL, MODERATE TRAINING GAPS, AND LIMITED EXPRESSIVE CAPABILITIES WILL LEAD TO SUFFICIENT EVALUATION. EXTENSIVE TRAINING GAPS, INSUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE, AND DIFFICULTY OF EXPRESSION WILL BE EVALUATED NEGATIVELY. |
