Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO TEACH STUDENTS WHAT A LANGUAGE IS, HOW IT IS ORGANISED AS WELL AS THE POINTS OF CONTACT AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES, FOCUSING ON LINGUISTIC VARIATION AND CHANGE.
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMPARE DATA FROM DIFFERENT LANGUAGES, EXTRACTING COMMON AND CONTRASTING ELEMENTS AT PHONOLOGICAL, MORPHOLOGICAL SYNTACTIC AND SEMANTIC LEVEL.
