Objectives
THE COURSE IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE STUDENTS OF THE CLASSIC CURRUM WITH A MORE STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF THE MORPHOLOGICAL AND SYNTACTIC STRUCTURES OF GREEK AND LATIN LANGUAGES, AND THUS INTENDS TO ACHIEVE IMPROVEMENT OF THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF TEXTUAL ANALYSIS.
KNOW HOW TO EVALUATE TEXTS IN THE LANGUAGE OF GREEK AND LATIN LITERATURE; KNOWING HOW TO EXERCISE TEXTUAL ANALYSIS; SOLID AND CONSCIOUS ACQUISITION OF THE MORPHOSYNTACTIC STRUCTURES OF THE GREEK AND LATIN LANGUAGES; ABILITY TO CRITICALLY USE THE TEXTS AND TO CARRY OUT A CAREFUL EXEGETIC PRACTICE.

KNOWLEDGE OF CLASSICAL LANGUAGES IS PREFERABLE
Contents
THE COURSE WILL CONCERN IN PARTICULAR ON THE THEME OF THE GREEK AND LATIN VERBAL DEFLECTION, WITH DEEPENINGS OF MORPHOLOGY AND HISTORICAL SYNTAX; IT WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH THE STUDY OF SPECIFIC GREEK AND LATIN TEXTS. IN PARTICULAR, THEY WILL FORM OBJECT OF STUDY SOME VERSES FROM APOLLONIUS RHODIUS, THE ARGONAUTICS (3, 1278-1407), AND FROM LUCRETIUS, DE RERUM NATURA (5, 925-1006).
Teaching Methods
THE DIDACTIC METHOD IS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE LANGUAGE STRUCTURES OF GREEK AND LATIN (PHONETICS, MORPHOLOGY, SYNTAX) AND ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND TEXTS IN THEIR FORMAL AND CONTENT VALUES.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
ABILITY TO TRANSFER THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED IN THE MOST GENERAL FIELD OF LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS AND LITERARY CRITICISM.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT:
FORMATION OF AN AUTONOMOUS AND SCIENTIFIC ORIENTED ASSESSMENT CAPACITY OF ANCIENT LITERARY TEXTS.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EVEN TO A PLATFORM OF NON-SPECIALISTS THE CONTENT OF THE SPECIFIC FIELD OF STUDIES THROUGH APPROPRIATE EXPRESSIVE AND CONCEPTUAL FORMS.
LEARNING ABILITY:
ACQUISITION OF THE SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND COMPETENCES OF THE DISCIPLINE, AS THE BASIS OF AN ECLECTIC AND VERSATILE COGNITIVE ABILITY, ALSO ABLE TO INTERACT WITH THE CONTENTS OF OTHER DISCIPLINARY AREAS.
Verification of learning
FINAL EXAMINATION: ORAL.
THE EXAM WILL VERIFY THE ACQUISITION OF THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF A SOLID INSTITUTIO IN GREEK AND LATIN LANGUAGE.
IT WILL ALSO CHECK THE
1. SKILLS IN TEXTUAL ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF TEXTS WITH APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY
2. DEEPER AND CRITICALLY FOUNDED SKILLS TO DISCUSS LINGUISTIC STRUCTURES
3. SKILLS IN A CORRECT CRITICAL USE OF THE TEXTS AND A CAREFUL EXEGETIC PRACTICE
