Objectives
THE LITERARY DISCIPLINE HAS THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING THE STUDENT AN IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN LITERARY HISTORY FROM '500 TO '800 THROUGH THE STUDY OF HIS MOST SIGNIFICANT AUTHORS AND THE HISTORICALLY AND CRITICALLY AWARE OF EXEMPLARY TEXTS.
- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ABILITY
DEEPENED KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN LITERARY HISTORY THROUGH READING AND ANALYSIS OF THE WORKS OF ITS MOST SIGNIFICANT AUTHORS, AND OF THE MAIN METHODS AND TOOLS FOR HIS STUDY (BIBLIOGRAPHIES, CATALOGS, INDICES, DATABASES, ETC.); ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE LITERARY TEXTS IN PROSA AND IN THE VERSES BELONGING TO DIFFERENT PERIODS OF ITALIAN LITERARY HISTORY.
- ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
CAPACITY TO COVER THE MULTIPLE FACTORS (HISTORICAL, SOCIAL, CULTURAL, RETORIC, ETC.) THAT INFLUENCE THE FORMATION OF THE AUTHORS AND CONDITIONS THE LITERARY PRODUCTION; ABILITY TO ANALYZE THE LITERARY TEXT UNDER THE HISTORICAL, THEMATIC, PHILOLOGICAL, RETORIC, METRIC, LINGUISTIC AND STYLISTIC PROFILE; ABILITY TO ORGANIZE AN ELEMENTARY BIBLIOGRAPHIC RESEARCH ON A SPECIFIC HISTORICAL-LITERARY THEM; ABILITY TO CRITICALLY INTERPRET THE TEXTS OF ITALIAN LITERARY TRADITION AND TO USE APPROPRIATE THE TOOLS TO ANALYZE THEM, VAGLIANDONE OF TIME THE DIFFERENT UTILITY AND EFFICIENCY AT THE END OF RESEARCH; ABILITY TO REFER IN A CORRECT, COHERENT AND ARTICULATED FACTS, CONCEPTS, PROBLEMS, INTERPRETATIONS AND OWN AND OTHER OPINIONS; ABILITY TO EXPAND THE HISTORICAL-LETTERARY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED THROUGH OPPORTUNITIES CONNECTIONS WITH OTHER EUROPEAN LITERATURES AND THE HISTORICAL DISCIPLINES OF THE STUDY COURSE.
Prerequisites
HISTORICAL-LETTERARY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN SECONDARY SECONDARY SCHOOL. ELEMENTARY CAPACITY OF ANALYSIS AND SUMMARY OF A LITERARY TEXT.

THE COURSE CONCERNS TO READING AND COMMENTING OF LITERARY TEXTS FROM 500 TO 800: TASSO, GALILEI, BECCARIA, GOLDONI, ALFIERI, FOSCOLO, MANZONI, LEOPARDI, VERGA. DEEPENING ON THE LEOPARDI'S POEMS.
Teaching Methods
LECTURES AND EXERCISES, INCLUDING WITH COMPUTERS AND AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA.
Verification of learning
ORAL EXAM.
FINAL EXAMINATION IS CONSTITUTED BY A CONVERSION TO TAKE THE KNOWLEDGE BY THE STUDENT OF THE TREATED ARGUMENTS. IN THE EVALUATION, THEREFORE, BEYOND THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS, OF THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS: A) RELEVANCE OF THE ANSWERS; B) ABILITY TO DEVELOP THE ADDRESS IN AN AUTONOMOUS, ADEQUATELY ARGUMENTED AND CRITICALLY ARTICULATED; C) PROPERTIES AND VARIETIES OF THE USED LANGUAGE; D) MASTERY OF THE BASIC INSTRUMENTS OF THE ANALYSIS OF THE LITERARY TEXT.
