Objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THROUGH THE GRADUAL STUDY OF VOCABULARY AND INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION SITUATIONS, THE COURSE AIMS TO GUIDE STUDENTS IN THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING THE FRENCH LANGUAGE THROUGH THE ARRANGEMENT AND PRACTICE OF THE MAIN PHONETIC, GRAMMATICAL, LEXICAL AND MORPHO-SYNTACTIC ASPECTS.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENTS HALL HAVE ACQUIRED A GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE LANGUAGE IN ITS DAILY MANIFESTATIONS. THE COURSE AIMS TO MAKE STUDENTS REACH LEVEL B1 OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES.

PREREQUISITES
STUDENTS WILL HAVE PASSED THE FRENCH-SPEAKING LABORATORY.
THE COURSE IS AIMED AT BEGINNERS OR STUDENTS WHO HAVE AN ELEMENTARY KNOWLEDGE OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE.

COURSE CONTENT
THE COURSE AIMS TO ACQUIRE THE SKILLS DESCRIBED IN B1 LEVEL OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES THROUGH A COURSE OF ACTIVITY THAT AIMS TO DEVELOP THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE ESSENTIAL FOR ANY TYPE OF COMMUNICATION AS WELL AS TO AROUSE INTEREST IN FRENCH AND THE FRENCH-SPEAKING WORLD SOCIETY.
PRAGMATIC AND LINGUISTIC ACTIVITIES AIM TO MAKE STUDENTS INTERACT IN SITUATIONS THAT INVOLVE THEM CREATIVELY FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE AND CULTURE. IN FACT, THE COURSE PROPOSES INTERACTIONS IN AUTHENTIC SITUATIONS IN THE VARIOUS AREAS OF DAILY LIFE (PERSONAL, PUBLIC, PROFESSIONAL) IN ORDER TO ENCOURAGE MOTIVATION AND INVOLVEMENT IN LEARNING. STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP SKILLS AND STRATEGIES THAT LEAD THEM TO DISCOVER, CONCEPTUALIZE AND ASSIMILATE LINGUISTIC CONTENT IN RELATION TO PRAGMATIC OBJECTIVES.
A PART OF THE COURSE WILL BE DEDICATED TO THE USE OF THE MAIN LANGUAGE LEARNING TOOLS (DICTIONARIES, GRAMMARS, MULTIMEDIA TOOLS). GRAMMAR AND MORPHO-SYNTAX EXERCISES AS WELL AS THE STUDY OF VOCABULARY (LEXICON OF DAILY LIFE) WILL BE USED TO STIMULATE REFLECTION ON LINGUISTIC MECHANISMS. PHONETICS, WHOSE OBJECTIVES COINCIDE WITH THE OTHER CONTENTS, IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE LESSONS. THE COURSE AIMS TO ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO READ, TRANSLATE, UNDERSTAND AND SYNTHESIZE SHORT TEXTS, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN EVERYDAY CONTEXTS.
THEMES THAT ALLOW TO STUDY THE CULTURAL ASPECTS THROUGH AUTHENTIC DOCUMENTS OF FRENCH CULTURE AND HISTORICAL REFERENCES WILL ALSO BE TREATED.
IN ORDER TO GUIDE THE ANALYTICAL REFLECTION ON THE LANGUAGE, THE LESSONS MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES IN SELF-LEARNING MODE.

DIDACTIC METHODS
THE COURSE AIMS TO TEACH STUDENTS A GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE LANGUAGE IN ITS DAILY MANIFESTATIONS AND TO DEVELOP FRENCH-ITALIAN CRITICAL AND CONTRASTIVE REFLECTION ON THE MECHANISMS OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE.
THIS ACQUISITION TAKES PLACE DURING LECTURES THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF THE MAIN PHONETIC, LEXICAL, GRAMMATICAL AND MORPHO-SYNTACTIC ASPECTS.
THE COURSE PROVIDES THE TOOLS TO MAKE STUDENTS ACQUIRE AWARENESS IN THE USE OF STRATEGIES SUITABLE FOR PUTTING INTO PRACTICE THE FOUR BASIC LANGUAGE SKILLS OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IN CONTEXT, AS WELL AS IMPLEMENTING THE COMPETENCE IN READING, TRANSLATION, COMPREHENSION AND WRITTEN PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES AND ORAL OF SHORT TEXTS. A PART OF THE COURSE IS DEDICATED TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TYPES OF TEXTS, THE MAIN TECHNIQUES FOR REDUCING A TEXT (SUMMARY, REPORT, SYNTHESIS).
Verification of learning
VERIFICATION OF LEARNING.
AT THE END OF THE COURSE ALL STUDENTS OF FRENCH (CLASSICAL LETTERS 9 CFU) AND FRENCH LANGUAGE I (MODERN LETTERS 12 CFU), ATTENDING AND NOT ATTENDING, ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE ORAL TEST, WHICH INCLUDES:
- VERIFICATION OF MORPHOSYNTACTIC AND LEXICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED DURING THE LESSONS;
- LANGUAGE CONVERSATION ON THE TOPICS CONTAINED IN THE TEXTBOOKS ADOPTED, THOSE PRESENTED IN THE CLASSROOM AND IN THE LANGUAGE LABORATORIES;
- READING, TRANSLATION, SUMMARY OF THE TEXTS CONCERNING THE CIVILIZATION OF FRANCE IN ORDER TO VERIFY THE STUDENT'S UNDERSTANDING AND SYNTHESIS ABILITY.
FOR ATTENDING STUDENTS, ONGOING TESTS ARE SCHEDULED.
