Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS OF THE CLASSICAL CURRICULUM WITH A MORE SOLID KNOWLEDGE OF MORPHOLOGICAL AND SYNTACTIC STRUCTURES OF GREEK AND LATIN LANGUAGES, AND THUS INTENDS TO ACHIEVE IMPROVEMENT OF THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF TEXTUAL ANALYSIS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
1. SOLID KNOWLEDGE OF THE MORPHOSYNTACTIC STRUCTURES OF THE GREEK AND LATIN LANGUAGE
2. MORPHOSYNTACTIC EVALUATION OF TEXTS IN THE LANGUAGE OF GREEK AND LATIN LITERATURES
3. EXERCISE OF TEXTUAL ANALYSIS
4. ABILITY TO CRITICALLY USE TEXTS

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
1. KNOW HOW TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GREEK AND LATIN TEXTS
2. ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND DISCUSS, WITH CORRECT TERMINOLOGY, PHILOLOGICAL PROBLEMS
3. ACQUIRING THE BASICS OF AN ECLECTIC AND VERSATILE COGNITIVE ABILITY

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INITIATE AN AUTONOMOUS PROCESS OF ELABORATION OF THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, LINKING THE ORIGIN FROM DIFFERENT FIELDS.

ABILITY TO REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE, BY MEANS OF TEXTS OR VIRTUAL TOOLS, THE RESULTS OF OWN RESEARCH OR ELABORATIONS CARRIED OUT ACCORDING TO CORRECT INVESTIGATION METHODS.

LEARNING ABILITY
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
1. USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND COMPUTER ANALYSIS AND ARCHIVING RESOURCES;
2. CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS OF A LITERARY OR PARALITERARY TYPE;
3. PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, USING THE SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE AND LITERARY PRODUCTION IN A CONTINUOUS INTERACTIVE DIALOGUE.
Prerequisites
KNOWLEDGE OF CLASSICAL LANGUAGES IS PREFERABLE
Contents
THE COURSE WILL FOCUS SPECIFICALLY, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE THEME OF THE GREEK AND LATIN VERBAL DEFLECTION, WITH DEEPENINGS OF MORPHOLOGY AND HISTORICAL SYNTAX; IT WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH THE STUDY OF SPECIFIC GREEK AND LATIN TEXTS. IN PARTICULAR, THEY WILL FORM OBJECT OF STUDY SOME VERSES FROM APOLLONIUS RHODIUS, THE ARGONAUTICA, AND FROM LUCRETIUS, DE RERUM NATURA.
Teaching Methods
DURING THE COURSE, IN ADDITION TO TEACHER'S LECTURES, EXERCISES AND SHORT DISCUSSIONS ON THE TEXTS WILL BE PROPOSED TO CHECK THE DEGREE OF ONGOING RECEPT AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE TOPICS.
Verification of learning
FINAL EXAMINATION: ORAL.
THE EXAM WILL VERIFY THE ACQUISITION OF THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF A SOLID INSTITUTIO IN GREEK AND LATIN LANGUAGE.
IT WILL ALSO CHECK THE
1. SKILLS IN TEXTUAL ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF TEXTS WITH APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY
2. DEEPER AND CRITICALLY FOUNDED SKILLS TO DISCUSS LINGUISTIC STRUCTURES
3. SKILLS IN A CORRECT CRITICAL USE OF THE TEXTS AND A CAREFUL EXEGETIC PRACTICE
