THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS COURSE ARE THE FOLLOWING: TO KNOW THE MAJOR MOMENTS OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY, AND ITS GEOGRAPHICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXTS OF REFERENCE, THE STRUCTURES AND THE LONG PERIOD KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT: – WILL KNOW THE MAJOR MOMENTS OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY AND THE GEOGRAPHICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXTS OF REFERENCE, AND WILL UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF CONTEMPORARY EUROPEAN CIVILIZATION IN THE GENERAL FRAMEWORK OF GLOBAL CIVILIZATION, TO ORIENT IN HISTORY AND TO DIFFERENTIATE HISTORY AND HISTORIOGRAPHY; – WILL ACQUIRE THE MAIN TOPICS OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY AND THE RHYTHMS OF A WORLD IN RAPID AND CONTINUOUS SOCIAL, POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC EVOLUTION; – WILL UNDERSTAND THE CONSTANT INTERLACEMENT BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY, AS WELL AS THE MOST NOVELTY ELEMENTS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE DIFFERENT PHASES OF GLOBAL HISTORY; TO THIS WILL BE ADDED THE AWARENESS OF THE RELATIONSHIPS THAT, OVER TIME AND IN SPACE, INTERVIEW BETWEEN MAN AND THE ENVIRONMENT, WITH MODERN STATES AND INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS COMMITTED IN THE GOVERNMENT OF VERY VAST TERRITORIES ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: – KNOWING TO ELABORATE ORIGINAL APPROACHES AND INTUITIONS TO HISTORICAL CHARACTERS, WHICH HAVE DESIGNED THE PHYSIONOMY OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD; – COMPETENTLY EXAMINE THE RICH REPERTORY OF SOURCES AND MATERIALS, WHICH ARE THE BASIS OF HISTORICAL STUDIES RELATING TO THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD; – RESOLVE AND TRANSLATE WITH CRITICAL AWARENESS THE EVALUATION OF THE TOPICS ADDRESSED IN ORDER TO THE GREAT FRAMEWORKS OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD; – KNOWING TO READ AND UNDERSTAND PHYSICAL, POLITICAL AND HISTORICAL CARDS REGARDING THE VARIOUS PHASES CONTEMPORARY HISTORY AND TO KNOW HOW TO LOCATE THE MAIN EVENTS THAT HAPPENED IN EACH TERRITORY AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: – SELECT THE PROBLEMS CONNECTED TO THE NEED TO "UPDATE" THE HISTORICAL STUDY, OR TO FIND IN THE TRADITION OF THE PAST THE TRACES OF THE SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS OF OUR MOST STRINGING CONTEMPORANEITY; – IDENTIFY THE MAIN HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF THE MOST GENERAL HORIZON OF RELATIONS AND INTERLACES BETWEEN HISTORICAL EVENTS AND PROCESSES OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD; – DISCOVER NEW KEYS TO READING AND INTERPRETING THE IDEA OF MODERN IDENTITY, ASKING QUESTIONS TO THE PAST THROUGH THE EXAMINATION OF UNEXPLORED RELATIONS BETWEEN EPISODES AND PHENOMENA, WHICH ARE PLACED WELL BEYOND THE LOCAL OR REGIONAL HISTORICAL SCALE COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: – SUPPORTING CONVERSATIONS ON MULTIPLE THEMES SHOWING A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORIOGRAPHICAL GUIDELINES RELATING TO CONTEMPORARY HISTORY; – REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ISSUES WITH OWN PROCESSING, THROUGH TEXTS, CARDS OR VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS LEARNING ABILITY THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: – USE THE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHICAL TOOLS AND THE COMPUTER RESOURCES FOR ANALYSIS AND DATA ARCHIVING; – CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX SCIENTIFIC OR LITERARY TEXTS; – PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF HIS KNOWLEDGE, USING THE RELEVANT TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE |
