Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO TEACH STUDENTS THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR CRITICAL REFLECTION WITH RESPECT TO THE USE OF RESEARCH IN OBSTETRICAL NURSING.

THE COURSE AIMS TO SHOW STUDENTS THE PROCESS OF RESEARCH IN ALL PHASES THAT MAKE IT UP, HIGHLIGHTING THE DIFFERENCES INHERENT IN THE DIFFERENT TYPES AND METHODS OF RESEARCH: EXPERIMENTAL, QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL, OBSERVATIONAL (DESCRIPTIVE AND ANALYTICAL) - BASIC AND APPLIED RESEARCH - THE PHASES OF THE RESEARCH PROCESS - CLASSIFICATION OF THE SEARCH BASED ON TIME.
THE MODULE SOCIOLOGY AIMS TO MAKE THE STUDENTS THE MAIN TOOLS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A RESEARCH PROJECT QUALITY AND QUANTITY, APPLICABLE TO SPECIFIC AREAS OF EXPERTISE OBSTETRICAL NURSING, WITH A FOCUS ON METHODS OF EBM, EBN, EBHC, EBP AND NBM.

MODULE: DATA PROCESSING AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BASES OF NURSING RESEARCH AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS.
FOR NURSING RESEARCH, HE WILL LEARN TO ANALYZE EXPERIMENTAL DATA SETS AND USE SOFTWARE TOOLS TO PROVIDE A QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE DESCRIPTION, IN THE FORM OF NUMBERS AND GRAPHICS, OF THE RESEARCH DATA.
FOR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, THE STUDENT WILL LEARN THE ROLES AND FUNCTIONALITIES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TOOLS TO HANDLE THE INFORMATION FLOWS WITHIN HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEMS.
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INTEGRATE THE KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED TO MANAGE THE COMPLEXITY OF THE INFORMATION PRODUCED WITH THE AID OF COMPUTER INSTRUMENTS WITH THOSE OF BASIC NURSING EDUCATION IN ORDER TO MAKE CRITICAL ASSESSMENTS AND FORMULATE WORK HYPOTHESES (JUDGEMENT SKILS).
THE STUDENT'S ABILITIES TO EXPOSE THE ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THE COURSE WITH COMPLETENESS AND EASE OF LANGUAGE WILL ALLOW A CLEAR AND EFFECTIVE TRANSMISSION OF CONTENTS (COMMUNICATION SKILLS). THE STUDENT WILL FINALLY GAIN THE ABILITY TO EXTEND AND DEEPEN THE STUDIED TOPICS AND ADDRESS NOVEL APPLICATIONS INDEPENDENTLY (ABILITY TO LEARN).

ELECTRONIC SHEET (EXCEL): ADVANCED USE FOR DATA PROCESSING. INTRODUCTION TO R-STUDIO SOFTWARE FOR DATA ANALYSIS. VARIABLES, VECTORS AND MATRICES, FUNCTIONS. USE OF THE R-STUDIO LIBRARY FOR EXCEL DATA EXCHANGE.
DESCRIPTIVE DATA ANALYSIS: STATISTICAL INDICATORS AND FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTIONS, HISTOGRAMS, BOX-PLOTS IN EXCEL AND R-STUDIO.
INFERENTIAL DATA ANALYSIS: CONFIDENCE INTERVALS, T-TEST, ANOVA, WILCOXON SIGNED RANK TEST, CHI-SQUARED TEST IN EXCEL AND R-STUDIO.
