THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE CONCEPTUAL TOOLS AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES TO PROMOTE INCLUSIVE PROCESSES. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BY THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT SHOULD KNOW CONTEMPORARY PEDAGOGICAL RESEARCH ABOUT INCLUSION AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES. APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BY THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH SPECIFIC CASES BY MAKING USE OF PEDAGOGICAL DESIGN TOOLS. AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT BY THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO INTEGRATE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO MANAGE THE COMPLEXITY OF INCLUSIVE PROCESSES, SHOWING AUTONOMY IN JUDGEMENT AND ETHICAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THEIR APPROACH TO EVALUATION. COMMUNICATION SKILLS BY THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT SHOULD DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS USING THE SPECIFIC LEXIS OF THE DISCIPLINE AND PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE ARGUMENTS TO HIS/HER CONCLUSIONS. LEARNING ABILITY BY THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT SHOULD DEMONSTRATE THAT HE/SHE HAS DEVELOPED LEARNING SKILLS THAT ALLOW HIM/HER TO DEEPEN AND CONTINUE HIS/HER STUDIES INDEPENDENTLY. |

STEMMING FROM A DEFINITION OF THE AREAS OF STUDY OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY, THE COURSE WILL ANALYSE SOME CORE CONCEPTS OF THE DISCIPLINE FOCUSSING ON THE ISSUES RELATED TO DISABILITY AND SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. THE COURSE WILL CONCENTRATE ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: - FIELD OF STUDY OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY - HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY - SPECIAL PEDAGOGY AND INCLUSION - EDUCATION OF PUPILS WITH DISABILITY: POSSIBILITIES AND EDUCATIONAL CHOICES - THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL IN THE EDUCATION OF PUPILS WITH DISABILITY - QUALITY OF LIFE AND THE "AFTER US" PROJECT - MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES TO INCLUSION - LABORATORY APPROACH AND POSSIBLE INCLUSIVE RESEARCH PATHS |
