Prerequisites
THE STUDENT SHOULD HAVE ACQUIRED THE BASICS OF MICROBIAL BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, MATHEMATIC, GEOLOGY AND PHYSICS USUALLY TEACHED IN THE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF THE DEGREE COURSE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE (I.E. CORSO DI LAUREA IN SCIENZE AMBIENTALI)

PRACTICAL EXERCICES OF ABSOLUTE RISK ASSESSMENT WITH SOFTWARE PROGRAMS WILL BE ALSO CARRIED OUT AS WELL AS ANALYSIS OF ADR AND CHARACTERIZATION PLAN REPORTS (24 HOURS)
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE CONTAINS 56 HOURS OF TEACHING (6 CFU) THAT WILL BE ORGANIZED AS FOLLOWS:
-FRONT CLASSES ON ALL THE LECTURE TOPICS THAT TAKE PLACE IN THE CLASSROOM WITH THE USE OF SLIDES PROJECTION (32 HOURS)
- PRACTICAL EXERCICES OF ABSOLUTE RISK ASSESSMENT WITH SOFTWARE PROGRAMS AND ANALYSIS OF ADR AND CHARACTERIZATION PLAN REPORTS(24 HOURS)

THE ATTENDANCE OF LECTURES AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES IS NOT COMPULSORY.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE OBJECTIVES WILL BE CERTIFICATED THROUGH THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN EXAMINATION WITH A GRADE EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS. THE EXAMANIATION WILL INCLUDE BOTH WRITING AND ORAL TESTS.
THE STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO PASS FIRST A WRITING TEST CONTAINING MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND OPEN QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE TEACHING PROGRAM TOPICS PRESENTED DURING THE LECTURES. A MINIMUM GRADE OF 18/30 IS REQUIRED FOR THE WRITING TEST WHICH SHOULD NORMALLY TAKE AT LEAST 60 MINUTES AND IT AIMS TO VERIFY THE ABILITY OF THE STUDENT TO CORRECTLY APPLY THE THEORICAL KNOWLEDGE AS WELL AS HIS CAPACITY TO UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEMS BEING FACED.
THE ORAL TEST WILL CONSIST IN AN INTERVIEW WITH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ON BOTH THE THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL CONTENTS OF THE COURSE PROGRAM IN ORDER TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE STUDENT, TO VERIFY HIS COMUNICATION SKILLS.
THE FINAL GRADE IS OBTAINED FROM THE MEAN OF BOTH GRADE TESTS AND THE FINAL MINIMUM GRADE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE EXAMINATION IS 18/30.
THE MINIMUM GRADE (18) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE ITALIAN LEGISLATION SPECIFIC TO THE REMEDIATION OF CONTAMINATED SITES, TO THE CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES AND RISK ASSESMENT OF CONTAMINATED SITES, AS WELL AS TO THE MAIN REMEDIATION AND POLLUTANT CONTAINMENT TECNOLOGIES.
THE MAXIMUM GRADE (30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE ITALIAN LEGISLATION SPECIFIC TO THE REMEDIATION OF CONTAMINATED SITES,TO THE CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES OF CONTAMINATED SITES, AS WELL AS TO THE MAIN REMEDIATION AND POLLUTANT CONTAINMENT TECNOLOGIES.
HONOURS (LODE) MAY BE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO REACH A MAXIMUM MARK OF 30/30 AND WHO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO APPLY INDEPENDENTLY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED IN CONTEXTS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED IN CLASS.
