Objectives
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE NOTIONS, PRINCIPLES, TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS FOR THE PROPER MANAGEMENT OF LOCAL, NATIONAL AND SUPRANATIONAL PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE THIRD SECTOR.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT:
- WILL KNOW THE AIMS, FUNCTIONS, SPECIFICITIES OF PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS AND THE THIRD SECTOR;
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE DISCIPLINARY FOUNDATIONS OF THE MANAGEMENT PROCESS, BASED ON THE PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION AND CONTROL OF RESULTS, AT A STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL LEVEL;
- WILL LEARN THE ROLE OF ICT TECHNOLOGIES IN THE INNOVATION OF PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS AND THE THIRD SECTOR.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- OVERSEE AND APPLY THE BASIC PRINCIPLES, MODELS AND KNOWLEDGE NOTIONS TO SET UP A CORRECT MANAGEMENT PROCESS ALIGNED WITH THE SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS AND THE THIRD SECTOR;
- ADEQUATELY ADOPT THE TOOLS FOR RESEARCH, ANALYSIS, DECISION-MAKING AND CONTROL OF RESULTS IN THE CONTEXT OF PUBLIC MANAGEMENT;
- IMPLEMENT ICT TECHNOLOGIES AND DEVELOP A COMMUNICATION PLAN, BASED ON THE RIGHT MIX OF TECHNIQUES, MEANS AND VEHICLES.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- EXPRESS CRITICAL ATTITUDES AND INDEPENDENT JUDGMENTS, IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO CORRECTLY MAKE CHOICES WITHIN A RANGE OF DIFFERENT OPTIONS;
- INTERPRETING AND EVALUATING THE ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCE OF ORGANIZATIONS IN AN INTUITIVE AND ANALYTICAL WAY;
- DEMONSTRATE ADEQUATE PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS IN MANAGEMENT MATTERS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- DEMONSTRATE ARGUMENTATIVE ATTITUDES AND EASE OF ILLUSTRATION OF THE THEMES, USING ADEQUATE TERMINOLOGY AND SPECIFIC LANGUAGE APPROPRIATE FOR THE DISCIPLINE;
- INTERACT AND ARGUE ON THEIR POSITIONS AND PROPOSALS, IN AN EXHAUSTIVE MANNER;
- COMMUNICATE AND EXHIBIT, THROUGH TEXTS AND / OR VIRTUAL TOOLS, THE OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS OF PROJECTS DEVELOPED INDEPENDENTLY OR IN GROUPS.

LEARNING ABILITY
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE THE BIBLIOGRAPHIC AND IT TOOLS NECESSARY FOR PERSONAL STUDY OF TOPICS RELATED TO A SPECIFIC AREA OF RESEARCH;
- PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF SKILLS IN ORDER TO RELATE THEM TO DIFFERENT DISCIPLINARY AREAS;
- CARRY OUT INDIVIDUAL RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, BASED ON THEORETICAL STUDIES AND EMPIRICAL ANALYZES.

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS ORGANIZED IN LECTURES, IN-CLASS EXERCISES AND CASE STUDIES FOR ENCOURAGING THE ENGAGEMENT AND THE PROPOSITIVE ABILITY OF THE STUDENTS.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN EXAM WITH AN EVALUATION OUT OF THIRTY. THE EXAM INCLUDES A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL TEST.
THE WRITTEN TEST IS AIMED AT ASCERTAINING, IN A TRANSPARENT AND OBJECTIVE WAY, THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING REACHED BY THE STUDENT ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED. THE ORAL EXAM CONSISTS OF AN INTERVIEW, WITH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM, IN ORDER TO ASCERTAIN NOT ONLY THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT, BUT ALSO THE ABILITY TO PRESENT THE TOPICS WITH THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY.
