Prerequisites | |

The teaching of Sports Medicine requires the student's knowledge of human anatomy, joint biomechanics and the physiology of the cardio-circulatory and pulmonary systems. That the student is in a position to be able to assess what the basic characteristics are in order to obtain a positive judgment inherent in the certification of suitability for competitive sports. The course of study does not foresee any prerequisites between courses |

Teaching Methods | |

The course is divided into n. 12 lectures lasting 2 hours each. The lectures will allow the student to acquire the knowledge of how Sports Medicine is legally structured in our country and the differences compared to other nations. What are also the I and II level medical exams necessary for the certification of competitive and non-competitive sports fitness. In addition, the lessons will highlight the importance of adapted physical exercise, the doping phenomenon as well as acquiring knowledge on nutritional intake. The student will also acquire skills in first aid and how to intervene in the presence of a sports injury. At the end of the course there will be a seminar on a topic chosen by the students which will be developed by the teacher with their active interaction. Participation in frontal teaching hours is mandatory and access to the exam requires the attendance of at least 70% of class hours. Participation in frontal teaching hours is strongly recommended. |

During the course, students will be subjected to the administration of multiple choice questions that will simulate the final written exam at the end of the course. The exam consists of a written test and an oral test (optional). In the written test lasting 60 minutes, the student will be subjected to the resolution of n. 31 multiple choice questions aimed at verifying the overall capacity (acquisition and processing of the topics covered). The oral exam (optional) lasting about 15 minutes involves the discussion of the paper, aimed at verifying the student's ability to independently develop any specific programs. The oral exam will verify the theoretical knowledge, with particular reference to contents, such as history, definition and tasks of Sports Medicine; The organization of Sports Medicine in Italy and in the world. Regulatory profile of the health protection of sports activities, to achieve the following objectives: to acquire scientific knowledge and educational training in the field of sports medicine, with specific reference to the clinic, diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The written test consists of a test of n. 31 questions with 4/5 multiple answers. The oral exam will be accessible to students who reach a minimum score of 18/30 in the written test, who want to improve their assessment. The score of the oral exam depends on the degree of depth of the paper and the student's ability to effectively present the contents and critically discuss the topics illustrated. The score of the oral exam is aimed at evaluating the theoretical in-depth study of the student. The minimum score in the oral exam requires knowledge of the topics present within the educational program. The maximum mark is reached when the student demonstrates that he has excellent knowledge of the topics discussed. Excellence requires achieving the maximum score in all tests and having demonstrated maximum competence in the topics discussed. The final grade will result from the composition of a score of 31 from the written test, or from the score of 28-30 from the written test and discussion of the paper and from the score of 29 and 30 from the knowledge check. |
