Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS AT PROVIDING STUDENTS THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN LAW, POLITICS AND THE ACTION OF INTEREST GROUPS IN THE LIGHT OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF MODERN PLURALIST DEMOCRACY.
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO INTERPRET AND DISTINGUISH THE DYNAMICS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE ROLE AND ACTIONS OF INTEREST GROUPS IN THE ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN PUBLIC SPACE, AND TO UNDERSTAND THE EVOLUTIONARY LINES OF A PHENOMENON, LOBBYING, MORE AND MORE VISIBLE AND INFLUENTIAL INSIDE THE GLOBALIZED SOCIETY.
STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP GRADUALLY A DEGREE OF CRITICAL EVALUATION AROUND THE ACTION OF PRESSURE GROUPS WITHIN THE INTERNAL POLITICAL DYNAMICS AND SUPRANATIONAL AS WELL AS THE CAPACITY TO UNDERSTAND THE INSTITUTIONS AFFECTED BY THE PHENOMENON.
Prerequisites
STUDENTS MUST HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF PUBLIC LAW, POLITICAL SCIENCE AND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

INTEREST GROUPS. APPROACH TO THE PROBLEM. PARTIES, GROUPS AND SOCIAL MOVEMENTS. ALLIANCES BETWEEN PARTIES AND GROUPS. ACCESS AND INFLUENCE OF INTEREST GROUPS IN THE DYNAMICS OF POLITICAL POWER. INTEREST GROUPS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION. THE LOBBYING ACTIVITIES. STRATEGIES. THE MOST INFLUENTIAL BANDS. GROUPS AND DEMOCRACY.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE WILL BE STRUCTURED ACCORDING TO TRADITIONAL (LECTURES) AND EXPERIMENTAL (WORKING GROUP, SEMINARS WITH EXTERNAL EXPERTS AND PROFESSORS, ETC.) METHODS. SO AS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH ADDITIONAL LEARNING TOOLS, MORE ARTICULATE AND BETTER MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE JOB.
Verification of learning
THERE WILL BE A MID-TERM EXAM (NOT COMPULSORY). THE FINAL EXAM WILL TAKE PLACE ORALLY AND THE FINAL MARK WILL BE BASED BOTH ON THE RESULT OF THE MID-TERM, AND IN THE LIGHT OF THE ASSESSMENT OF THE LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION SKILLS OF THE SUBJECT AS A WHOLE.
