Objectives
THE COURSE PROVIDES AN ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE POLITICAL LEXICON THROUGH THE ELABORATION OF THE COMPLEX DYNAMICS THAT CHARACTERIZE CURRENT POLITICS.

UPPLYING AND KNOWLEDGE AND UNDER STANDING:
STUDENTS MUST BE ABLE TO USE THE POLITOLOGICAL TERMINOLOGY AND UNDERSTAND THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF SOVEREIGNTY, CITIZENSHIP, RIGHTS, STATE, GOVERNANCE, TECHNIQUES OF GOVERNMENT. THEY MUST BE ABLE TO ANALYZE THE MAJOR MODELS OF DEMOCRACY WITH THE LEXICON AND THE CRITERIA OF JUDGMENT AND EVALUATION THAT IS INHERENT TO THOSE.

MAKING JUDGMENTS
THE PHILOSOPHICAL AND CRITICAL CHARACTER OF THE DISCIPLINE MUST GIVE RISE TO THE CAPACITY TO FORMULATE AUTONOMOUS AND CRITICAL JUDGMENTS ON THE RELEVANT POLITICAL QUESTIONS, ENABLING THE STUDENTS TO SUSTAIN THE JUDGMENTS WITH A RATIONAL ADEQUATE ARGUMENTATION.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
IT IS FORESEEN THAT THE COURSE, INSISTING ABOVE ALL ON THE LEXICON AND ITS MEANINGS, GUARANTEES A GOOD EXPRESSIVE AND COMMUNICATIVE CAPACITY WITH REGARD TO THE RELEVANT POLITICAL TOPICS.

LEARNING SKILLS
GIVEN THE CONTINUOUS DISCUSSIONS IN CLASS, THE COURSE WILL PROVIDE A PROGRESSIVE IMPROVEMENT OF THE LEARNING CAPACITIES OF THE STUDENTS BRINGING FORTH THEIR CRITICAL AND PARTICIPATIVE COMPETENCIES.

A SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE CURRENT POLITICAL REALITY PAYING CONTINUOUSLY ATTENTION TO THE MEANS OF COMMUNICATION.

THE COURSE WILL ANALYZE THE VALIDITY OF THE MODERN POLITICAL CATEGORIES IN THE CURRENT NEOLIBERAL GOVERNANCE: THE AMBIVALENT CONCEPT OF POLITICS IN-BETWEEN ORDER-FORM OF THE SOCIAL AND FORCE-MOVEMENT THAT TRANSFORMS IT; THE DISTRIBUTIVE AND IDENTITARIAN MODALITY OF POLITICS; THE EMERGENCE OF NEW FORMS OF SOCIAL-POLITICAL SUBJECTIVITY ANALYZED IN A PERSPECTIVE THAT VALORIZES THE DIFFERENCES; THE CRISIS AND TRANSFORMATION OF DEMOCRACY; LIBERTY – CONCEPTUALIZED AS PRACTICE – THAT IS EXPERIENCED IN THE CONCRETENESS OF LIFE AND THAT IS NOT PHILOSOPHICALLY PRESUPPOSED.
