Objectives
THE COURSE IS ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE THE LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY OF LEVEL B2 OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE, THROUGH THE APPROACH TO THE SPECIALIZED LANGUAGES, ISSUES AND TEXTS. THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO CONSOLIDATE THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE SPANISH LANGUAGE PREVIOUSLY ACQUIRED. THE COURSE ALSO AIMS TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE STUDY OF THE LATIN AMERICAN POLITICAL AND INSTITUTIONAL HISTORY, THROUGH ONE OF ITS KEY- FIGURES: SIMÓN BOLÍVAR.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: DEVELOP A SUFFICIENT ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN SPANISH.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: DEVELOP A SUFFICIENT RULE OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE, MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND AND ARGUE ON POLITICAL, SOCIAL, CULTURAL ISSUES.
MAKING JUDGMENTS: DEVELOP A SUFFICIENT INCLINATION TO SELF-STUDY OF POLITICAL, PHILOSOPHICAL AND HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS, DEMONSTRATING THAT IT HAS ACQUIRED A MATURE ATTITUDE AND PARTICIPATORY TO STUDY.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: ABILITY TO CRITICALLY ILLUSTRATE, WITH ADEQUATE COMMAND OF THE LANGUAGE,THE HISTORICAL, PHILOSOPHICAL AND CULTURAL ISSUES, ANALYZED DURING THE COURSE.
LEARNING SKILLS: ABILITY TO ESTABLISH A FAIR AND ADEQUATE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE LANGUAGE SKILLS ACQUIRED AND THOSE OF A POLITICAL, HISTORICAL, CULTURAL.
Prerequisites
KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE LEVEL B1-B2 OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE.

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 40 HOURS OF LECTURES IN SPANISH. THE FREQUENCY, ALTHOUGH NOT MANDATORY, IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM WILL CONSIST IN A WRITTEN AND AN ORAL TEST. THE WRITTEN TEST, WHICH IS THE BASIS FOR THE ORAL ONE, IS CONSIDERED VALID FOR THE ENTIRE ACADEMIC YEAR, OVER WHICH, IN THE ABSENCE OF THE ORAL TEST, WILL HAVE TO BE REPEATED.

IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO REPEAT, IF NOT EXCEEDED, THE WRITTEN OR THE ORAL TEST IN THE SAME SESSION. FINALLY, IT CAN NOT BE SUSTAINED IN THE SAME SESSION THE TWO EXAMS AT THE TWO LEVELS OF THE LANGUAGE.
