Objectives
TEACHING PROVIDES THE THEORETICAL-METHODOLOGICAL BASIS FOR UNDERSTANDING HOW DIFFERENT HUMAN SOCIETIES MODIFY AND STRUCTURE THE EARTH'S SURFACE IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE FULFILLMENT OF THEIR NEEDS AND THE SOCIAL REPRODUCTION. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE GIVEN TO THE GEO-ECONOMIC AND GEO-POLITICAL INTERDEPENDENCIES ESTABLISHED AMONG COUNTRIES AND REGIONS OF THE WORLD, RESULTING IN IMPORTANT INTEGRATION PROCESSES, AS WELL AS TERRITORIAL ASYMMETRIES AND GLOBAL CHALLENGES.
AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ACQUIRED THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE TERRITORIAL DIMENSION OF THE PROCESSES AND DYNAMICS OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD. HE WILL ALSO HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND BE ABLE TO COMBINE THE ACQUIRED GEOGRAPHIC COMPETENCES WITH THE SKILLS GAINED IN OTHER DISCIPLINES OF THE DEGREE PROGRAMME.
