Objectives
1. TO HELP LEARNERS TO IMPROVE THEIR LANGUAGE SKILLS IN FRENCH DEVELOPING UPPER-INTERMEDIATE LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE (AT LEAST LEVEL B1 OF THE EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES DESIGNED BY THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE).
2. TO OFFER STUDENTS THE TOOLS OF PRAGMATICS, SOCIOLINGUISTICS AND DISCOURSE ANALYSIS FOR A CRITICAL APPROACH TO LANGUAGE, ISSUES AND SPECIALIZED TEXTS, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO MEDIA AND POLITICAL LANGUAGE.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND USE SELF-CONFIDENTLY EVERYDAY EXPRESSIONS AND SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE RELATED TO THE SOCIAL SCIENCES.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND EDUCATIONAL, SEMI-SPECIALIZED AND SPECIALIZED TEXTS ON FENCH LANGUAGE, FRENCH LINGUISTICS AND SPECIALIZED FRENCH LANGUAGES.
MAKING JUDGMENTS:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COLLECT, UNDERSTAND AND DEVELOP LANGUAGE INFORMATION IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR OWN OPINIONS.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN A WELL-SPOKEN MANNER.

LESSONS AND SPECIALIZED SEMINARS WILL DEAL WITH SOCIOLINGUISTIC, POLITICAL AND GEOPOLITICAL CURRENT ISSUES, WITH REFERENCE TO THE TYPICAL ASPECTS OF FRENCH CULTURES WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO MEDIA DISCOURSE.
