1. TO HELP LEARNERS TO IMPROVE THEIR LANGUAGE SKILLS IN ENGLISH DEVELOPING INTERMEDIATE LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE (AT LEAST LEVEL A2 OF THE EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES DESIGNED BY THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE). 2. TO OFFER STUDENTS APPROACHES AND STRATEGIES STRICTLY RELATED TO EDUCATIONAL AND SEMI-SPECIALIZED ISSUES AND TEXTS. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND USE SELF-CONFIDENTLY EVERYDAY EXPRESSIONS AND SEMI-SPECIALIZED TERMS RELATED TO THE SOCIAL SCIENCES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND EDUCATIONAL AND SEMI-SPECIALIZED TEXTS ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE, ENGLISH LINGUISTICS AND SPECIALIZED ENGLISH LANGUAGES. MAKING JUDGMENTS: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COLLECT AND UNDERSTAND LANGUAGE INFORMATION IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR OWN OPINIONS. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN A SIMPLE AND CLEAR WAY. LEARNING SKILLS: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERTAKE AUTONOMOUSLY A FURTHER LEVEL OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE STUDIES. |
