IN DISCUSSING THE MAIN FACTS AND TOPIC THAT CHARACTERIZED THE HISTORY OF THE "MEZZOGIORNO" OF ITALY, THE COURSE WANTS TO FAVOUR THE KNOWING OF THE "QUESTIONE MERIDIONALE" AND ITS LINKS WITH THE ITALIAN NATION-BUILDING PROCESS, HIGHLIGHTING HOW THE ANALYSIS PRODUCED DURING DIFFERENT PERIODS DID NOT SUCCED TO INFLUENCE DECISION PROCEDURE EVERY TIME. LEARNING OUTCOMES: - KNOWLEDGES AND COMPREHENSION SKILLS THE COURSE WANTS TO PROVIDES THE STUDENTS WITH METHODS AND SKILLS TO EXAMINE IN DEPTH THE HISTORY OF ITALIAN "MEZZOGIORNO", ABOVE ALL HIGHLIGHTING INTERCONNECTIONS BETWEEN DIFFERENT VARIABLES (POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL) AND SHOWING PRINCIPAL INTERPRETIVE SCHEMES IN REGARD TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTHERN ITALY. - ABILITY TO USE KNOWLEDGES CAPABILITY OF APPEALING TO THE KNOWLEDGE ON THE PAST TO UNDERSTAND AND TO EXPLAIN THE PRESENT POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROCESSES CONCERNING THE "MEZZOGIORNO" OF ITALY. - INDIPENDENT JUDGEMENT AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGES TO EVALUATE THEORICAL MODELS AND HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE, IDENTIFYING FUNDAMENTAL PECULIARITIES OF THE ITALIAN CASE AND HIGHLIGHTING THE PROBLEMS OF POLICIES FOCUSED ON SUPPRESSION OF TERRITORIAL LACK OF BALANCE. - COMMUNICATION SKILLS AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE CAPABILITY OF USING AND EXPLAINING THE MAIN PECULIARITIES OF THE "MERIDIONALIST" DEBATE, IN MANY CASES LINKED TO AUTHORS THAT ITRODUCED THEM IN THE PUBLIC DEBATE. - LEARNING ABILITY CAPABILITY OF EXAMINIG FACTS BY USIG METHODS AND SKILLS LEARNED DURING THE COURSE, KNOWING PRINCIPAL SOURCES AND REFERENCES TO READ THE EXTENDED LITERATURE ON THE THEME. |
