OBJECTIVES SPECIFIC TRAINING OBJECTIVES: ACQUISITION OF SKILLS IN THE FIELD OF WELFARE POLICY PLANNING AND EVALUATION. AT THE END OF THE COURSE STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE THEORETICAL, METHODOLOGICAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY FOR THE UNDERSTANDING AND APPLICATION OF THE LATEST THEORIES IN SERVICE PLANNING AS WELL AS USEFUL TOOLS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EVALUATION MODELS IN THE SPECIFIC FIELD OF SOCIAL POLICIES. KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION THROUGH LECTURES AND EXERCISES, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE IN THE NEW CONTEXT OF THE CURRENT HISTORICAL PHASE OF SOCIAL POLICIES IN WHICH PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIONS, SOCIAL ENTERPRISES AND ASSOCIATIONS SUFFER FROM A LACK OF PUBLIC FUNDS (NATIONAL AND/OR REGIONAL) TO CO-FINANCE SOCIAL PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES. ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND DEEPEN THEORETICAL LINKS WITH OTHER DISCIPLINES AND RESEARCH AREAS THAT HAVE A LINK WITH SOCIAL POLICIES. AT THE END OF THE MODULE STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE METHODS FOR READING NEEDS AND THE MAIN THEORETICAL MODELS OF PLANNING AND EVALUATION OF SOCIAL WELFARE POLICIES; ABILITY TO USE KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE ANALYTICAL, METHODOLOGICAL AND OPERATIONAL TOOLS OF SOCIAL PLANNING IN THE CONCEPTION, ELABORATION AND DRAFTING OF A PROJECT AND IN ITS EVALUATION. THE ABILITY TO RESPOND TO CALLS FOR PROPOSALS FROM FOUNDATIONS, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIONS OR ANY EUROPEAN CALLS, BECOMES OF FUNDAMENTAL IMPORTANCE FOR THE LAUNCH OF PROJECTS THAT HAVE A MEASURABLE TERRITORIAL IMPACT THROUGH EVALUATIVE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES. THE METHODOLOGY AND TEACHING TOOLS AIM AT DEVELOPING ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS ALSO THROUGH EXERCISES AND SIMULATIONS. WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND APPLY, IN DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTS, THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS AND TOOLS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PROJECT CYCLE: IDENTIFICATION, FORMULATION, DECISION MAKING, IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND EVALUATION AS WELL AS THE COMMUNICATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT INTERVENTIONS AND THEIR EVALUATION |

A BRIEF INTRODUCTORY PART IN WHICH THE MAIN FUNDING POLICIES IN THE SOCIAL WELFARE FIELD WILL BE ADDRESSED WITH THE FOCUS ON LEARNING ABOUT GRANTING, DISBURSEMENT AND CONTROL OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE PLANNING AND DESIGN OF SOCIAL AREA PLANS. IT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL PART RELATED TO THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF SOCIAL PLANNING AND HOW TO DRAW UP PROJECTS: - BASIC CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES OF PROGRAMMING AND PLANNING - THE DIFFERENT THEORETICAL APPROACHES TO PLANNING - PROJECT CYCLE MANAGEMENT AND THE LOGICAL FRAMEWORK ; - THE PHASES OF SOCIAL PLANNING AND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CONCEPTS OF FEASIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY. MODALITIES OF STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT - THE EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS OF A PROJECT INTERVENTION; - THE PURPOSE OF THE EVALUATION - THE SUBJECT OF THE EVALUATION - MAIN STAGES AND EVALUATION CRITERIA |
Teaching Methods | |

LECTURES, GROUP WORK AND EXERCISES, SUPPORTED BY SEMINARS ON THE STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF PROJECTS IN THE FIELD OF TERRITORIAL WELFARE POLICIES. GROUP WORK AND EXERCISES, USING SOCIAL PLANNING TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS, WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A RANGE OF SKILLS THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO BE MORE RECEPTIVE TO THE DEMANDS OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE FEEDBACK FROM THE SERVICE ORGANIZATION SYSTEM, SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE INFORMED AND PROFESSIONAL CHOICES WITHIN THIS SYSTEM. ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO ATTEND, FOR THOSE WHO WILL NOT ATTEND THE COURSE, AND THEREFORE DO NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CARRY OUT GROUP WORK AND EXERCISES, ADDITIONAL TEXTS AND MATERIAL ON THE SUBJECT PROVIDED BY THE TEACHER WILL BE RECOMMENDED. |
